  1. Need

Need the following implementation to be present in the IDocumentClient interface for easier compliance of SOLID principles and not having to use dynamic to read the result. Currently it is present only in the concrete class and it is a bad practice to inject concrete dependencies into my repository class.

public Task<DocumentResponse<T>> ReadDocumentAsync<T>(string documentLink, RequestOptions options = null)

  2. Make Azure Fluent API more lightweight.

Right now the entry point for Azure Fluent API requires dependency on all fluent libraries which is a lot of dependency. It should allow us to have the Azure entry point without all other fluent libraries.

An example of this is, I'm working with ARM and Storage Accounts. ARM's current non fluent .NET library is in Preview so I'm required to used fluent and fluent essentially forces me to include all SDK components which becomes pretty heavy.

  4. PowerShell support id(UK) or UniqueKeyPolicy in SQL collection

When you create a new SQL collection, there is no id(UK) option.

  5. AZ displaying error messages in color

AZ displaying error messages in color is not just pointless but is infuriating.

    Try putting these two together...

  6. Unable to mock MessageSizeExceededException, et al. due to sealed/internal constructors

Many of the .Net Standard (Microsoft.Azure.EventHubs namespace) classes, particularly exceptions, are sealed with internal constructors making unit testing of our error and retry handling impossible or very difficult using hacky workarounds. There should be a way to replicate these exceptions.

  11. Support for docker stack deploy

Docker support currently executes the following command after building containers:

    docker-compose -f "slnroot\docker-compose.yml" -f "slnroot\docker-compose.override.yml" -f "slnroot\obj\Docker\docker-compose.vs.debug.g.yml" -p dockercompose14620923243451567273 --no-ansi up -d --no-build --force-recreate --remove-orphans

Could we have a new setting under
VS > Tools > Options > Container Tools
which allows us to switch to swarm mode, instead performing a docker stack deploy instead.
Thanks to the upcoming Kubernetes support in Docker for Windows (currently available on Edge), this would also integrate nicely out-of-the-box with Kubernetes if the user has configured it so.

  12. Azure Blob Python wrappers Create Blob feedback

In the Python SDK, a call to Create Blob overwrites a current blob by the same name. This is different from the calls to Create Container, which will just append to an existing container by the same name.

  15. Frequent "socket timeout" exceptions when calling "list" methods

In the Azure SDK for Java, "list" methods cause frequent unhandled "socket timeout" exceptions, which requires users to implement their own retry logic.

  16. List operation of VirtualMachineScaleSetVMs very quickly results consistent HTTP Status code 429 response

In the Azure SDK for Java, repeated calls to VirtualMachineScaleSetVM returns an HTTP 429 error (too many requests). However, since the list operation doesn't return instance information (issue #28166), repeated calls are necessary.

  18. [Azure Java SDK] Deployment failure error message

In the Azure SDK for Java, some deployment error messages only return "Async operation failed" without information about what operation failed or why.

  19. Removed methods instead of deprecating

The version of fasterxml:jackson libraries (2.7.0) used by the Azure SDK contained methods used by the version of the Spring framework that had be removed. They really should have been deprecated rather than just removed so the FasterXml team release 2.7.1 that put back those methods but marked them as @deprecated.

  20. Enable "Show all files" for cloud service projects (*.ccproj)

Visual Studio has a "Show All Files" feature that makes it much easier to include an existing directory structure of files into a project, as seen in this msdn blog post:

    https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/benwilli/2015/05/21/visual-studio-tip-8-adding-existing-files-with-show-all-files/

This feature is not currently available for cloud service projects (*.ccproj). I would like to be able to use this feature to make it easier to add an existing directory structure of files under my Web/Worker role project's Role Content folders.
