Billing tags
Use tags on resource group level for billing in EA portal.
Currently we have to tag all sources within a resource group for billing information in the EA portal. It would be more efficient if the tags on the resource group level are used in the reports

This is great feedback and while we don’t have plans to include this on our roadmap in the near future, we will certainly follow up with the other stakeholders to determine the next steps to getting this feature supported.

Submitted by request: It’s my understanding that tagging at the resource group level is the ‘best practice’ from the community, so it is a little frustrating that this data is not available (or at least an option) in reporting tools out-of-the-box.

Hi team,
Ideally, the Billing API would enable **BOTH** the tags at the resource and resource group level. Folks consuming the Billing API could use resource group tags if they are missing from the resources.
This is especially important as many resources cannot be tagged/retagged while they are running for example many of the Data components (SQL, HDI Clusters, etc).
Furthermore, many resources can't be tagged at all such as service bus.

Wow, I am surprised that this is not simply the way it works already, it would be very helpful to implement this!

Recovery Vault belonging to a Resource Group cannot be currently tagged. Please add tags to Recovery vault for billing separation for EA users
