Please provide a way to delete a payment method. You can add or change but not delete (not good)!
Just add the ability to delete a payment method. It appears to be lacking.
Thanks for the feedback. We are planning on adding the ability to delete a payment method.
This is a follow up to my post on "September 09, 2020 17:21". After going through the steps on the portal, I was able to successfully delete my Visa card from Azure portal. I retrieve my comment of being dissapointed with MS.
Not sure if mine was successful because I initiated the delete process, same day I registered for the free trial.
Go to payment method, select your card and click delete. There is a prompt that checks if its possible to delete your card. After that, it gives a link to disable the subscriptions associated with the card.
Click on the link, disable the subscriptions and wait for 3-5 days before attempting to completely delete same. Note that you will not be able to delete the subscription if there's any resource still tied to it. For which you have to go into resources, select all, and delete.
Then after, delete the subscription again, a prompt will tell you it might take some minutes to reflect, but I just proceeded to delete my card.
Just gone through the process of deleting my credit card and its virtually impossible.
I didn't even evaluate the virtual machine for up to 1hour, before deleting it, and cancelling my subscription. I will wait to see if my card is debited at end of trial date.
I have taken various snapshots from the pages and will be suing for intent to deceive and steal, if i notice any deduction from my account.
This is disappointing from MS.
4 years gone. Any update on this? Please at least be honest and say that's not your business plan.
I used the trial and the subscription is disabled now. I cannot remove my credit card info
I have gone many weeks now being run around by Sukanth Susai, Bikash Singh, and other supposed "managers". Supposedly just today they finally added this basic feature. But instead of my card actually being deleted, it says I must first detach it. I then hit detach, and it says "failed". They are doing an excellent job proving how shady Microsoft has become. How can we the consumer fight them if they decide "remember that free trial? We have now decided it isn't so free, and you owe us back payments for it no matter if you still use it or not". Or insert any other reason to charge the card. Very upset by all this....
actually the answer is from almost 4 and a half years ago... Can someone from MICROSOFT respond about this?????
?????????????? The answer from "Azure Billing Team":
"Thanks for the feedback. We are planning on adding the ability to delete a payment method."
dates from more than 3 years ago.. is it really so that today, it is STILL not possible to delete the card??????
Really microsoft, shame on you!
Add an option to delete the credit card to generate confidence in your users, for now I wont recommend use microsoft services because voluntary fails like this.
Please fix this problem, I just used a test trial
Holy heavens! This is my Dad's card he is going to kill me! Added card to test trial now i cannot remove card. What tha ****!
This is very frustrating.
My solution: I edited and changed Cardholder Name to "Cardholder Name", Expiry date to 06/2020, basically all wrong details except the card number and country which can't be changed. At least I gain some peace of mind knowing that I can't be wrongly charged for using a free trial.
This is unacceptable ! Because i cant remove my card from Azure I ALSO CANT remove if from Microsoft -> Account -> Payment options. There is an error message :
Visa **XXXX is associated with one or more of the following services.
So basically once you used card on Azure, sensitive data about you and your credit card will be there forever, because there is no way to delete them. WTF ?!

It seems that it's still not possible to delete a payment method on an expired subscription. Do you have an ETA for this feature?
Тия педали от майкрософт все пак изтриват експайърнати събскрипшъни месец и половин след като ти изтече трайъла
It's basically impossible to delete a credit card from an account that's got an expired trial subscription. I signed up for a trial a long time ago and I think my credit card is still associated with that expired trial, so I can't remove it. I can't open a support request because the wizard in the cost management + billing center doesn't work.
It's really disappointing to see billing related issues like this one and the lack of pay-as-you-go spending caps being ignored. Digital Ocean and AWS have much better billing options for small users.

Stupid Microsoft azure why removing card details soo much harder.3 years back also it was very deficult to remove, I contacted support team to remove, now also it's soo much hard to remove. No option to remove. Because of this I hate azure stupid. Who given this idea to keep customer card, soon that guy get corona and die.
Azure's billing system is a piece of shhit, there was a time I decided to stop using azure and delete every resource on it, after I confirmed there is nothing left on the resource list, I just leave it alone.
However at the end of the month, I found out azure was still charging me for "undeleted" resouce, the bs lousy customer service told "on our backend it shows you didn't delete the resource brah brah". I give up bcz it was not a huge amount, however with this I warn anyone who want to use azure to be careful.
How to remove card .while removing its saying this card is associated with many services. really this is too bed Microsoft.
Why we can not remove our card.
Please remove my card.
adding credit card was so easy...and removing ? there is no option to remove it. It is asking me to contact application support to wherever it is linked.....not fair...why do you want to hold our credit cards when we are not using any service ?
Seriously? shame on you azure. I will stay away from this garbage
