Changing Payment Mode from Invoice to Credit Card
My Credit Card linked with Azure Subscription expired and I happened to switch to Invoice Payment Mode inadvertently. I did not know that it requires offline wire transfer. Quasar is no longer supporting online wire transfer from India.
I could not switch back to Credit Card Payment Mode and reached Microsoft Support for help. They said it is not possible any more and must go for Offline Wire Transfer!
I am surprised to learn this! How could such a brilliant system miss a
feature of conveniently switching between multiple payment mode as and when desired by its customer?
I wish Azure soon allowed me to change the Payment Mode from Invoice to Credit Card.
Thanks for your feedback. We have plans to support this feature.

I agree with all the comments below. The last invoice that was sent I didn't even receive a notification even though I made sure this was enabled (I was already getting notifications every month for my invoices paid by card). Invoices suck and would much prefer the ease of mind of having payments go out automatically.

Any update here? It's October 2020, an official response in September 2015 said there were plans to support this. Very disappointed and frustrated with the limitation.

Guys, it's only a company like Microsoft that can be so arrogant and ignorant in dealing with their customers.
We have had severe issues with invoices not delivered and wrong amounts which result in getting emails for late payments and threats to lose services. This is a very stressful way to work with Azure and being told abruptly by support you can't switch back is both ridiculous and unhelpful.
Hurry up and get this implemented.

So, @57200459-azure-billing-team, how's the planning for this feature request going? It's only been 35 months.
I have the same problem. This is pretty stupid. In no way did the system tell me that I cannot switch back to credit card once you choose invoice.
Sorry, but this is very bad.
This is an entirely reasonable request. Flexibility in our billing options is paramount - no organization stays the same, nor do their billing requirements.

Is there an update on this? I created a dummie account and have an outstanding balance of $12 which I would like to settle with a credit card vs wire transfer. Please advise!

I have the same problem. Now I can't access anything on my production site.
Still waiting for this "feature" of being able to switch from invoice to credit card. Can you tell me when this will be coming? 2½ years in the making seems like a long time even by Microsoft standards.

I would like to change our payment method for Azure services from a PO / check method to a credit card in order to assure Microsoft timely payment for our Azure services. Apparently that is not allowed without closing my Azure configuration and then recreating the configuration. Not a realistic chance of that happening.
This is crazy. For more than two years customers have complained about this, and yet you have not been able to allow us to change back to credit card payment...
Now the feature has been planned (at least) since September 2015 and now more than 6 months later it is still not implemented!??!
What is going on?

We need to change billing method from Invoice to creditcard.
But whit Azure it's not possible whit less then creating a new subscrition, and transferring all the services to the new subscrition, but according to MS support it's not possible to transfer all of our services to the new subscrition.
To day it's not possible to change payment method back to credicard, hopfully MS will come up whit at solution soon.

Just contacted support to have it switched back to creditcard, this was not possible.
...seems that contacting support is the only option - this really ought to be available in the management portal.
I recently had my amex compromised and was updating my AMEX on file with Azure. After update i looked at my billing history and saw that my physical address on the invoices was incorrect.
The invoice button was directly next to the Credit Credit card button so i click it and the first thing that came was an address field... i completed the new address and click the check box....
From that point forward it has been ****. I account was permanently changed to Billing... Support said i could not just switch back to Credit Card. They informed me that there was no way for me to just check invoice method without a credit check to OK a billing... BUT IT HAPPENED.
So i have had to move all my databases off of my former subscription to a new similarly named subscription inserting my Credit card for CC billing.
I have had to cancel my old subscription.
i was told that my developer support plan was changed to invoice billing also automatically just by clicking that invoice icon in my old subscription.
when i try and repurchase the support plan i get an error and have submitted a support ticket for this also.
I may end up have to leave the support as invoice billing and new subscription as CC..
That is a very poor design of the accounting for these services.. most of us would rather have you charge a corporate CC than deal with having to watch for the invoice..
Please see if the design of that area could not be improved. One should not be able to 1. switch to Invoice billing method without your having to do something and several warnings that it is permanent.
2. there should be an easy way to update the address that appears on the invoice that is emailed monthly and paid by CC. The credit card update was straight forward...
The invoice Icon needs work... much work.
The idea that once the billing is switched the same subscription can not be returned to a credit card is quite ridiculous also.

My credit card number was stolen, instead of allowing any changes to the credit card number, the application switched to Invoice mode automatically while trying to change the credit card number to a new one.
Now the only answer I get is that there's no way to change it back to credit card.

Our account was first on "credit card pay' but some how it got switched to "invoice pay" and there is no option to go back to "credit card pay".
The "credit card pay" option is very easy and convenient to use and we'll very much appreciate it if something can be done to enable movement between payment options and thus, facilitate payments.
