  1. Spending Limit or Maximum Cost CAP for Azure

As a customer, I really care about Spending Limit or Spending CAP feature of Azure.

How does Azure prevent some evil attack to my Azure sites causing charge a large billing of Credit Card?

For example, it should automatically shut off or temporary disable my site when a certain dollar amount has been reached.

Is this feature in the RoadMap of Azure?

Or is there anyway to control my maximum Spending Limit of Azure?

    Thanks.

    Quick update,

We have been considering all of the risks and investigating the steps required to ensure we implement this feature with high positive impact and low to no negative impact.

After this investigation we have decided we will enable Pay-As-You-Go customers the option to configure a spending limit on a Pay-As-You-Go subscription, with appropriate safeguards and measures to prevent both service abuse and production service failure.

We have not yet finished determining the details of what this feature will look like, nor do we have a timeline for release, but we have heard your voices and have added this feature to our backlog.

    Thanks for your continued feedback,

    -Adam (Azure Billing Team)

  2. Verification sign-up with Prepaid Card or with PayPal

Actually, Azure is available only to people who owns a credit card. I think this is a strong limitation and you should provide other verification methods to reach also users who doesn't own a credit card. Prepaid/Debit card such MasterCard and Visa or PayPal would be very nice options to get verified and subscribe the service.
Please take this note in consideration because I'm sure Azure is losing lot of potential customers due to this limitation.
    Thanks. :)

    Hi there,

My apologies for how long this post has gone unanswered. The Azure billing team has undergone a transformation to ship features faster and improve our responsiveness to our customers. The new team is excited to re-engage with the community and deliver the features you need for a consistent and reliable cloud billing experience.

With that said, let’s break down this ask:

Azure currently accepts Credit and Debit cards, and provides a payment option through invoice for certain subscriptions that meet the appropriate criteria. (http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/offers/ms-azr-0003p/)

Supporting prepaid or virtual credit cards raises several concerns from a billing standpoint. Because of this, we currently don’t support this feature.

Other localized payment options through PayPal or other third party services are being considered for implementation in Azure, updates will be made available here.

If you have any further questions, please submit a new suggestion and we will be happy…

  3. Azure Developer Support email invoices

According to https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/azure-email-invoices/ is the email invoice feature for Support subscription not available. We are missing this feature.

  4. Display date in localized format

All dates displayed within Azure portal and billing sections are in the USA format - mm/dd/yyyy, which is very confusing for non-USA users. Format should ideally be based on user's localisation settings.

  5. Expand number of countries supported

It seems like there are many countries not yet supported in Azure, can you expand the number of countries? I can't sign up today =/

  6. Allow changes to the billing cycle

I signed up for my MSDN azure account mid-way through a month, so now my billing cycle is on odd dates. I want my billing cycle changed to be by calendar month (ie start on the first of each month), but I've been told you can't do that...

  7. Please provide a way to delete a payment method. You can add or change but not delete (not good)!

Just add the ability to delete a payment method. It appears to be lacking.

We have invoice history & download for pay as you go and monetary commitment offers. However, for credit offers like MSDN and for pre-paid Open tokens we are looking to add this capability. Thanks,

    Matt (Azure Billing)

  9. Direct debit payment

Please Microsoft should add the direct debit payment method to automate the payment process through the bank. The limit of the credit card can be and is an impediment when we have many contracted services.

    thanks

Thanks for the feedback. We agree, and we’re looking into doing this in the next calendar year.

In the interim, if credit card limits are a concern, you do have the option to pay by check or wire transfer. Please contact Support to get this set up.

  10. display receipts/invoices for Azure Marketplace purchases that has a similar layout as the standard Azure invoices.

Right now I have to go to commerce.microsoft.com to display a list of transactions, but my accounting department would like a receipt/invoice for the Azure Marketplace purchases that has a similar layout and information like the standard Azure invoices (so it has an invoice number, invoice date, method of payment, etc).

  11. Changing Payment Mode from Invoice to Credit Card

My Credit Card linked with Azure Subscription expired and I happened to switch to Invoice Payment Mode inadvertently. I did not know that it requires offline wire transfer. Quasar is no longer supporting online wire transfer from India.

I could not switch back to Credit Card Payment Mode and reached Microsoft Support for help. They said it is not possible any more and must go for Offline Wire Transfer!

I am surprised to learn this! How could such a brilliant system miss a
feature of conveniently switching between multiple payment mode as and when desired by its customer?

    I wish…

  12. Using Different Credit Cards for Different Subscriptions

Azure needs to allow multiple subscriptions under one account to each have a different credit card. Currently we can only have one card for all the subscriptions under one account. I use Azure hosting for multiple clients but there are some projects I wish to directly bill to them. I cannot, I either have to manage multiple accounts (which cost a lot with time and human resources) or I charge through my account and then have to spend more time on the other end billing.

This is a good suggestion, we have plans to do this and will even provide the option to apply changes only to the current subscription, or to all subscriptions on the account.

Let me know in the comments if you have further feedback.

    Thanks,

    -Adam

  13. Option to consolidate invoices of multiple subscriptions

As a company with multiple business streams, each responsible for their costing, we need to use separate "Subscription" in order to see their Azure costs clearly. For Finance department to process payment, however, it'll save admin work if can consolidate all subscription charge in ONE invoice.

  14. Can we see which invoices have been paid or recent outstanding balance

The billing history shows a list of invoices but I can't tell whether payment has been received until the next months invoice is produced. Can either the invoices be shown as paid or an outstanding balance be shown. As the latter is a moving target, the previous days balance would be fine.

  15. Better signup error messages

I've heard from many of my peers that Azure signup often results in frustrating generic error messages. I myself have seen the same, strings like: "I'm sorry we could not complete this operation." I've also heard of the screen just hanging.

I understand that unexpected errors do happen, but please invest in more actionable error messages and reduced error frequency. I doubt I'm alone in receiving a poor first impression of Azure.

  16. sent invoice

Send invoices to an email address in Azure Germany.

It's possible to send the invoices to an email address in Azure Global but not in Azure Germany.

  17. Allow consumption of 3rd Party services under Enterprise Agreement

Enterprise customers need a way to consume 3rd Party services like ClearDB's MySQL and Tinfoil Security's App Service Vulnerability Scanning. Ideally consumption of these services would be covered by EA funds as well.

    Hi Ben,

Under your Enterprise Agreement you can purchase Marketplace (3rd party) products and services. These charges will be billed as an overage on either a monthly or quarterly basis.

We have planned a feature to enable the use of your commitment dollars for the purchase of Marketplace but the timing is currently TBD.

    We appreciate your feedback.

  18. credit card

is it really necessary to ask for a credit card to try a product ? I don't like it the idea of worrying for another place I've given my financial information to, maybe this is a poor choice from the team that is responsible for putting this product on the market ! whatever it is, I hope this will get fixed and more possible future clients will have the possibility to try this without worrying about credit cards and such.

  19. add searching on invoice number

I quite often have to match expenses on our credit card bills with their Azure invoice counterparts.

It would help immensely when I could just enter the invoice number, and the applicable invoice pops up.

  20. Please extend the 1 month trial as one month is not enough to understand everything

1 month is hardly enough time to test drive. People need atleast 2 months

Great feedback. In fact we are working constantly on creating new offers to address concerns like these. We will likely have an offer in the near future which addresses the fact that Azure has a learning curve.
