  1. Spending Limit or Maximum Cost CAP for Azure

As a customer, I really care about Spending Limit or Spending CAP feature of Azure.

How does Azure prevent some evil attack to my Azure sites causing charge a large billing of Credit Card?

For example, it should automatically shut off or temporary disable my site when a certain dollar amount has been reached.

Is this feature in the RoadMap of Azure?

Or is there anyway to control my maximum Spending Limit of Azure?

    Thanks.

    Quick update,

We have been considering all of the risks and investigating the steps required to ensure we implement this feature with high positive impact and low to no negative impact.

After this investigation we have decided we will enable Pay-As-You-Go customers the option to configure a spending limit on a Pay-As-You-Go subscription, with appropriate safeguards and measures to prevent both service abuse and production service failure.

We have not yet finished determining the details of what this feature will look like, nor do we have a timeline for release, but we have heard your voices and have added this feature to our backlog.

    Thanks for your continued feedback,

    -Adam (Azure Billing Team)

  2. Verification sign-up with Prepaid Card or with PayPal

Actually, Azure is available only to people who owns a credit card. I think this is a strong limitation and you should provide other verification methods to reach also users who doesn't own a credit card. Prepaid/Debit card such MasterCard and Visa or PayPal would be very nice options to get verified and subscribe the service.
Please take this note in consideration because I'm sure Azure is losing lot of potential customers due to this limitation.
    Thanks. :)

    Hi there,

My apologies for how long this post has gone unanswered. The Azure billing team has undergone a transformation to ship features faster and improve our responsiveness to our customers. The new team is excited to re-engage with the community and deliver the features you need for a consistent and reliable cloud billing experience.

With that said, let’s break down this ask:

Azure currently accepts Credit and Debit cards, and provides a payment option through invoice for certain subscriptions that meet the appropriate criteria. (http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/offers/ms-azr-0003p/)

Supporting prepaid or virtual credit cards raises several concerns from a billing standpoint. Because of this, we currently don’t support this feature.

Other localized payment options through PayPal or other third party services are being considered for implementation in Azure, updates will be made available here.

If you have any further questions, please submit a new suggestion and we will be happy…

  3. Allow MPN Benefit subscriptions to be owned by Organizational Accounts.

I have all my paid subscriptions owned by my Organizational Account, the Microsoft Partner Network subscription I got for the Azure Benefits from my Action Pack can only be owned by a Microsoft Account at the moment, this makes administration more difficult and I'm unable to open support cases for services on that subscription as the owner is different. It is already possible for MSDN benefits subscriptions so please do the same for MPN benefits subscriptions...

Hey folks, sorry for the late update. Some backend changes were made to alleviate this issue but I believe it doesn’t solve it for everyone yet. Let me go get some details and come back with a better update. Thanks!

Thanks for the post , votes, and comments. We are aware of this limitation and are targeting sometime next year to improve this experience. In the meantime you can sign up for a new account in your desired country and transfer your assets to the new account via Support.

  7. Prevent Trial subscriptions from organizational users

Please allow the ability of Global Admins to prevent organization users from creating their own trial subscriptions. There appears no method of doing this and the trial gets associated with the Organization which is not desired.

  9. Allow changes to the billing cycle

I signed up for my MSDN azure account mid-way through a month, so now my billing cycle is on odd dates. I want my billing cycle changed to be by calendar month (ie start on the first of each month), but I've been told you can't do that...

  10. Change country for your account

Change country so that you can register a valid creditcard. I live in norway, have always been, but azure put me up as UK. I cant use credit card to pay for anything in Azure.

There should be a possibility to change country for an account and not need to create a new account to get to a new country. This is MS solution which is totally stupid.

They say that laws prohibit them from let people change country and that people will use this to avoid tax on their account. But if you just want to change country to…

  11. Direct debit payment

Please Microsoft should add the direct debit payment method to automate the payment process through the bank. The limit of the credit card can be and is an impediment when we have many contracted services.

Thanks for the feedback. We agree, and we’re looking into doing this in the next calendar year.

In the interim, if credit card limits are a concern, you do have the option to pay by check or wire transfer. Please contact Support to get this set up.

  12. Allow Azure Sponsorship acounts to view real time usage of resources.

If you have an Azure Sponsorship due to non-profit status, when you go to billing and usage, it directs you to the sponsorship portal where you are told how much money is used, but it does not tell any details as to why. I submitted a support desk question on this and was given the reply that we must wait for the end of the month for our monthly invoice to see that. Since we are just wading into the water with Azure, even if I tried using the pricing calculator, we won't know 'for sure' until we actually do…

We have invoice history & download for pay as you go and monetary commitment offers. However, for credit offers like MSDN and for pre-paid Open tokens we are looking to add this capability. Thanks,

    Matt (Azure Billing)

  14. I have no phone other then VoIP; you don't allow this why?

I am a start-up and have only a VoIP phone, because this isn't allowed I can't try Azure; really? The credit card isn't enough, or is it more about assuring one has money?
Ahh, the "Greed Evil" concept again, **** am I tired of it!

  15. Identity verification by credit card section hangs with the progress bar

I was stuck at the step "The Identity Verification By Credit Card".
I see the progress bar moving left and right, but it stays that way forever.
    When will this be fixed?

  16. DO NOT DELETE SERVICES IMMEDIATELY WHEN A SUBSCRIPTION RUNS OUT

see [REG:115031012492134] support reference for full history of this issue

    Hi,
It would be great if you could answer the following questions:
    1) Please show me where on the azure web site that it states that cloud services are auto deleted immediately if a subscription is disabled for any reason.
    2) Please let me know if you also delete cloud services automatically without warning “by design” if a credit card expires or fails dues to funds shortage or the like?
    3) Why do you want to seriously annoy your customers by designing your system like this????? That is a ridiculous…

  17. Get Offer ID programmatically through PowerShell / Azure CLI

It's not possible to get a subscriptions offer id through API today. It's needed to programmatically be able to use the rate card api since you need the offer id.

  19. Changing Payment Mode from Invoice to Credit Card

My Credit Card linked with Azure Subscription expired and I happened to switch to Invoice Payment Mode inadvertently. I did not know that it requires offline wire transfer. Quasar is no longer supporting online wire transfer from India.

I could not switch back to Credit Card Payment Mode and reached Microsoft Support for help. They said it is not possible any more and must go for Offline Wire Transfer!

I am surprised to learn this! How could such a brilliant system miss a
feature of conveniently switching between multiple payment mode as and when desired by its customer?

    I wish…

  20. don't use credit card for simple verification

I only use the free translation service, but if you want my credit card details to sign up for that, then I can live without it. If at any time I should want to use a paid service, then you can have my credit card details.
