  1. Restore the Visual Studio designer functionality of the ReportViewer WinForms control that was in previous versions

The ReportViewerControl for WInForms was removed from the Visual Studio IDE in VS2017. Now it is a NuGet package that is downloaded. The current NuGet download is “Microsoft.ReportingServices.ReportViewerControl.Winforms” version 150.1358.0.

After installing the package to the solution, you add it to the Toolbox manually browsing to the DLL in the solution’s packages folder and drop it on a form.

Here is where the control is broken. The control does not appear on the form, it shows as a non-visual component below the form. You have to manually add the control to the form by editing the Form1.Designer.cs file.

    Adding this…

  2. Simplify the management of License Assignment, Swapping, Updating in Office 365

Simplify the management of License Assignment, Swapping, Updating in Office 365. We want a simple licensing process for enabling a single plan within a license (e.g. Office 365 E3 Powerapps) without all the disables needed if multiple licenses was assigned to a user. We think that will help eliminate all the issues we are seeing because different teams can write their own powershell code and it is easy to make mistakes because of the complexity of the current approach of writing code. We found a PowerShell module - https://www.msazureteam.com/?p=411 however, not being a native PowerShell command really is an issue.…

  3. Timesheet function for Azure Devops

The Timetracker is both very expensive and a pain to manage billing. Please implement the estimated time and an actual time field that gets updated with daily additions of time.

  4. GraphQL based API Service

Please provide an Azure backed GraphQL-as-a-service (http://graphql.org/), similar to AWS AppSync. This service would integrate with other Azure services such as CosmosDB, Functions, Database for PostgreSQL, etc.

This would greatly improve the ability for developers to create serverless applications on the Azure platform by providing a unified API for all of those services, and also providing GraphQL websocket subscriptions for those services.

Additionally, the service would have the option of automatically provisioning CosmosDB collection(s) based on provided GraphQL schema types, and automatically building GraphQL mutations which persist information to CosmosDB. The goal would be to allow mobile /…

  5. OpenEHR Clinical Data Repository for Health

HL7 FHIR supports technical interoperability, but it does not provide a standardised approach to storage clinical data. Where the requirements lie with integration between health data providers, FHIR is a powerful tool. However, the wider definition of a digital patient records and their persistence requires additional tooling. OpenEHR is a standard that has been developed to provide a specification for these use cases. It is currently underpinning millions of patient records across the globe in Russia, Slovenia, Norway and the United Kingdom.

Validated and governed models are created as archetypes, and formulated into use case specific templates. These can be…

  9. Stakeholder read-only access for Azure DevOps code wiki

We have a wiki published from a vsts git repo.
We now need our stakeholders to be able to read pages within the wiki, I can not file the correct permission combination to allow this. They are a "Reader" on the git repo.
I know Stakeholder can not see code, they are access it through the wiki tab.

  11. improve the study guide for Azure Solution Architect

Please improve the study guide for the Azure Solutions Architect track.

First of all the self study part of the study guide consists about 50% of databricks, this is NOT ONCE mentioned in the actual AZ301 exam.

So, the guide currently encourages people who want to pass the exam to waste time.

Secondly, about half of the answers in the exam were NOT covered in the recommended self study.

As a result you can usually eliminate 1 or 2 answers because you learned about what they do, and know they are incorrect. And then you are left to guess between…

  12. https://tools3d.azurewebsites.net/ not working

I use https://tools3d.azurewebsites.net/ to repair my 3d files for personal printing, but since June 30 2019, after the upload of any file (usually .stl files), it keeps queueing for ever and I can't download the file, because it never ends.

I've tried on different computers and different networks, but the problem persists.

  13. Provide cloud native PaaS/Serverless solution for Event Store database with all the guarantees required by (ES/CQRS)

    MOTIVATION

It's quite challenging exercise to implement reliable and scalable database for Event Store using CosmosDB.
The problem is retrieving the events in the same order as they were inserted and ensure the order never changes.

Imagine scenario, where CosmosDB (SQL API for example) is partitioned and Events are being written concurrently to multiple partitions.

How do I write following cross partition query?

    > Give me documents newer than <some timestamp>, so that it always returns documents in the same order.

As far as I understand it can easily happen, that the same query will return:

    [Partition1/Doc1, Partition1/Doc2]

    and a…

  14. Allow Static Code Analysis Rule SR0014 to work with many temporal tables

None of the static code analysis rules will run on a database project in Visual Studio 2019 that has many temporal tables and rule SR0014 "Maintain compatibility between data types" enabled.

The error is always "SQL72039: The substring is out of the bounds for script MSSQL::" followed by the name of a temporal history table. Disabling system versioning on the parent table leads to the same error, but on a different history table.

The only solution to allow the other rules to run is to disable SR0014. This is not an acceptable solution, since I consider this one of the…

  16. Windows Server 2019 availability - Azure for students

Since Microsoft Imagine was transformed to Microsoft Azure for students the software (like Windows Server licenses and ISO's) are not updated anymore. The software is located under Home > Education > Software.
When navigating to the software section in Azure there are options for Server 2016 and Windows 8.1 Embedded. But still no sign of Server 2019. Server 2019 was available before the switch from Microsoft Imagine to Azure for students.

  17. Azure redirect url to external path adds extra "/" and url doesn't work

Azure redirect url to external path adds extra "/" and the parameter "includePath" is true by default, it can't change.

Some redirection won't work with this settings, we should can enable/disable "includepath".

  19. Disallow creating a branch that matches deleted branch names past N hours

In Azure DevOps: Add an ability to deny creating a branch that matches deleted branch names over the past N hours/days. After a Pull Request has been accepted and source branch deleted, a developer may accidentally hit Sync/Push and cause a local branch to be pushed to remote (Azure DevOps). Having a feature that can deny such accidental pushes would be handy.

  20. Free Certificates

Certificates are a major PAIN ********** on Azure. With Let's Encrypt, no one should need to pay anything for certificates, other than maybe a fee of 1$ per year or something like that.

    Azure should have:

    • A central place to manage certificates

    • All services should be integrated into this

    • Auto-Renew

    • Free Let's Encrypt certificates

    • Very low-cost Azure certificates (or even free as well)

I can't believe in 2019 this is still such a major PAIN for a big cloud provider like this.
