After clicking over a trace entry in the azure portal in search results, I'd like the portal to load the source code in visual studio and point me to the line of code where my trace was written. If i don't have a build server, i just want to load the source code my symbols files are pointing the assemblies to.4 votes
I made an application to send a sequence of traces with TelemetryContext.TrackTrace. I placed a session identifier in order to look for and display only the traces of a single user session.
When looking for the session id, the traces are displayed in the search results, but they don't appear in the same sequence i wrote them in the programming. Maybe this feature is either doing the sorting based on the date the traces are received rather than the date they were created during the application execution, or the date format used to store the date hasn't enough precision.4 votes
We have heavily invested in Application Insights in VS Online. We would like the ability to migrate data from VS Online to Azure App Insights Preview (or the go-live version). The statistics that we have generated over the last year are very helpful and we would really hate to not have those available in Azure.5 votes
I have application insights setup for my app, it's localized for 22 languages. My problem is that I speak/read English only. So in my diagnostic and other results it's sending localized information back to application insights. So I'm getting german, Chinese in my application insights results. Would it be possible to have these translated into English/the developers localized language, or to have the application insights agent/sdk in the app only send English/or the compiled language to the application insights service.3 votes
I'm the co-admin on a shared subscription and would like to create an App Insights resource there. However I only see my personal subscription as a choice, and not the subscription I'm the co-admin on.
How do I create the App Insights resource with that subscription?3 votes
I created an application insights resource and then tried to link it to one of my web apps through the add Extensions option in the Azure portal. But, I was not able to see any telemetry being generated for the web app, even after 24 hours.
It however worked for me in another web app, but this time I had added the application insights using NuGet package in Visual Studio, instead of adding the extensions in the portal.3 votes
Currently the Java client consists of 7 JAR files, totalling at 3.91MB:
Posting a HTTP request to the service should be doable in a single JAR file (100kB maybe?). Deploying those JARs is annoying for my Java Desktop Application, and is a dependency nightmare, since other libraries (might) depend on other versions of the same libraries.3 votes
In vstudio App Insights, it was front and center and we found it to be highly valuable. Please expose it in the azure portal.3 votes
AppInsights writes the following line to System.err during startup:
AI: INFO 17-11-2015 23:53, 21: Configuration file has been successfully found as resource
This shouldn't be written to System.err, but to System.out. Or not at all.3 votes
When creating a new web test in AI, the "." (period character) is not allowed in the test name, meaning you cannot type in the URL name that do "contain the period character" for example www.abc.com
This will result in the email notification being sent out without the URL name in the email subject, the recipient of the email notification wouldn’t know which website is down until he/she scrolls all the way down in the message1 vote
In VSO App Insights I was able to create a web test that was using the dedicated IP (https://x,x,x,x). Azure App Insights will not accept this same format. I would rather not have to create A records for individual nodes if I do not have to.1 vote
1. Open an Application Insights item
2. Click Proactive Detection
3. Click the Help button in the toolbar
4. Link opens to https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/app-insights-anomaly/
5. A 404 error is shown.1 vote
Requirement is that,
There is on one HTML page where i want to show the Application Insights data such as exceptions etc. So is there any REST API available to get data from Application Insights?1 vote
This is a bug report.
When the app insights goes over quota we get anywhere from 5 to 19 duplicate emails sent.
If this isn't the place for bug reports, my suggestion is add a place for bug reports. :)1 vote
The % total column in App Insights Failures seems to be wrong.
I got 500% errors in total.

Over the past few days, Application Insights has been broken.
Clicking on the Open Application Insights... menu item in a Visual Studio 2013 U3 Windows Phone 8 project no longer opens the Insights.
How can we get access to the former page that worked?1 vote
We're developing a BPM application to be run on Weblogic, and all the tutorials point to using Oracle ADF for rendering the task forms. My question is: is it feasible to use some other framework other than Oracle ADF for this? We're not really that familiar with either Oracle BPM or Oracle ADF (https://tekslate.com/oracle-adf-training/), but we can't avoid using Oracle BPM (contract reqt), so we would like to see if we can avoid Oracle ADF instead to minimize the learning effort.1 vote
