When creating an alert in the Web Service > Tools > Alerts blade, there is a Webhook field, but when creating the web test in the Application Insights > Availability blade this field is missing and you can only configure to send an e-mail notification.1 vote
I've created a web test in the App Insights > Availability blade with the following text in the "Content must contain" field:
This test succedes.
When I click "Edit test" and go to Success criteria, the text in the "Content must contain" field is invalid:
If I save the test, it starts to fail because the page contains a&b but not a&b.1 vote
The teams at my company use Application Insights to track all sorts of data. Each team room has a screen where the AppInsights can b displayed. Problem is, the data isn't auto refreshed by the portal, you have to manually refresh it. And if you add a browser extension to auto reload the tab, the charts are not being displayed after the browser refresh. So, no way to have the data being auto refreshed.
Can't you sprinkle some SignalR magic to the portal? :)
Thanks you in advance!21 votes
- Open an Application Insights panel
- Open the webtest panel
- Notice the legend in the chart displays ms (milliseconds) instead of s (seconds)
- Open an Application Insights item
- Click Proactive Detection
- Click the Help button in the toolbar
- Link opens to https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/app-insights-anomaly/
- A 404 error is shown.
AppInsights writes the following line to System.err during startup:
AI: INFO 17-11-2015 23:53, 21: Configuration file has been successfully found as resource
This shouldn't be written to System.err, but to System.out. Or not at all.3 votes
Currently the Java client consists of 7 JAR files, totalling at 3.91MB:
Posting a HTTP request to the service should be doable in a single JAR file (100kB maybe?). Deploying those JARs is annoying for my Java Desktop Application, and is a dependency nightmare, since other libraries (might) depend on other versions of the same libraries.3 votes
I have installed the browser script but I want to block certain items it sent to the app insights like the pagename. Can this be done?

I want to add multiple additional administrator email addresses in rules for Application Insights.
An alternative is that I can pick specific administrators instead of all.10 votes

I have application insights setup for my app, it's localized for 22 languages. My problem is that I speak/read English only. So in my diagnostic and other results it's sending localized information back to application insights. So I'm getting german, Chinese in my application insights results. Would it be possible to have these translated into English/the developers localized language, or to have the application insights agent/sdk in the app only send English/or the compiled language to the application insights service.3 votes
This is a bug report.
When the app insights goes over quota we get anywhere from 5 to 19 duplicate emails sent.
If this isn't the place for bug reports, my suggestion is add a place for bug reports. :)1 vote
In vstudio App Insights, it was front and center and we found it to be highly valuable. Please expose it in the azure portal.3 votes

I'm afraid I can't make head or tail of the AppInsights panels. The output seems inconsistent from one day to the next and inaccurate (sometimes it says "No data is available in this time period" when I know that I have used the site). Also, why does it show information in some areas (eg Browser page load), but in others it says "Learn how to collect server response time data (or request data, or failed request data) and if click on that link, it says "Add Application Insights to your project!", which I have already done! What on earth is going on there? If extra steps are required, set them out in detail, but that message just looks plain silly. Please fix this, or I will have to go back to using Google analytics for our sites.
