Workday Email Writeback API Version
According to the Workday provisioning docs, the current API call (MaintainContactInformation) for email writeback is v26.1. Can this be updated to use v30.0 or later and use the "ChangeWorkContact_Information" api call instead, as it's specific to work contact information and less likely to be blocked by other business processes in Workday?
Thank you for suggesting and upvoting this idea! Happy to share that we have rolled out an update that now uses “Change_Work_Contact” API call to update work contact information.
To use the new Writeback API, there may be a need to update permissions associated with the Workday Integration System User (ISU) account (specified in the app connection parameters) to grant it permissions to invoke the Change_Work_Contact business process. Refer to the instructions in the tutorial https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/saas-apps/workday-inbound-tutorial#configuring-business-process-security-policy-permissions
Same. We are also encountering blocked WriteBack attempts. This fix sounds promising. Any news?

Indeed its a necessary adaption of the Writeback App.
Are there any updates when this feature will be available?

Yes, Please use "Change_Work_Contact_Information" api call for changing the mail address. We also have a lot of validation errors, cause Maintain_Contact_Information is depending on BusinessProcess workflow to be closed. In that is not always realistic for NewHires.
Is there a timeline for this? We've been told that the old 'Contact Change' BP is being deprecated by Workday.
Can you please provide any timeframe as to when the Workday web service version for get_workers and contact information will be updated?
