Support Remote Desktop Web Client HTML5 on Azure AD App Proxy
Microsoft doesn't support the Azure AD Application Proxy on RD WebClient (HTML5). Like this MFA and Condintional Access would be possible.
Another benefit is that HTML5 works on all Webbrowsers without downloading software.
We are starting investigation to make this integration happen. We will update you as we progress on the feature and when we have a release date. Thank you so much for your patience.
Send a note to firstname.lastname@example.org if you have questions!
It would be great to get this feature working on browsers other than IE.
Can we get an update on the roadmap? We love the CA feature enforcing MFA, but can't use it for this purpose due to the IE limitation.
We really need this feature. Please give us an update on the implementation timeline.
This would make such a difference if we could do this!
FYI the reason it doesn't work (I think):
Excessive buffering.. I had the same issue trying to make Apache Guacamole work over app proxy. Found the following in their guide. Unfortunately no such option exist in Azure App Proxy.
Do not forget to specify "proxy_buffering off".
Most proxies, including Nginx, will buffer all data sent over the connection, waiting until the connection is closed before sending that data to the client. As Guacamole's HTTP tunnel relies on streaming data to the client over an open connection, excessive buffering will effectively block Guacamole connections, rendering Guacamole useless.
If the option "proxy_buffering off" is not specified, Guacamole may not work.
Any update on this? Please Microsoft! Sys admins need this feature to make this work!!

Yes, this feature would be really helpful and simplify to publish remote apps. Please give us a short update when we could expect with a deployment.
Seriously! When is this feature coming out? Just add controls for buffering. I tried setting up Apache Guacamole through app proxy as well with no luck because the app proxy doesn't have any options to limit buffering.
+1 for MFA and Azure proxy APP.
It's already a longtime without news, any update ?
Why isn't this done? It's so important.

We need this very much!!! MFA support and Azure App Proxy
Any update on this?
Dear Microsoft this will be an absolute killer feature to have if HTML5 web client works with AAD Application proxy we can finally publish all the legacy apps as remote apps and ditch our client vpns and remote portals. Currently because it only works with Internet Explorer it is too limited and no one wants to use IE.
Please prioritize ASAP.
Hey, any news on this end? Really looking forward to this feature!
Hi, is there any solution for MFA with RD web client HTML5?
Can HTML5 client work with AzureMFA?

Hi Azure AD Team,
Is there any update regarding the release date of this feature?
this is such a critical piece of making web client a viable option for any organization. Web Client is a very much welcomed extension to RDS but it's lacking a core feature to protect a perimeter endpoint. We were hoping the latest update released on 8/27 was going to include this - we can't roll out web client until this works. NPS extension provides a work around but still lacks the ability to control white listed IP ranges and requires hand holding of each user to download auth. app and set it up correctly (allow sign in from this device).
Yes yes yes!
Getting this to work would make it an exceptional exceptional capability. Potentially letting in clients from any HTML5 capable browser. RDweb via azure app proxy is shonky at best and the dependency on IE is, lets face it, an archaic approach given MS's direction of travel....
