Enable "Owner" attribute for Group Object on Azure AD Connect Sync
Currently, the group owner on Azure AD Portal is mapped to "Owner" attribute while the Office 365 Admin Portal is mapped to "ManagedBy". For a group which is synced from local AD to the AAD via AAD Connect, there is no way to update the "Owner" attribute on Azure AD.
The AAD Connect does not support "Owner" attribute for sync and we can't assign "Owner" on Azure AD as it is a synced object.
So to resolve this issue, the "Owner" attribute should be supported as an attribute for sync on the Azure AD Connect.

Any news if the feature is planned?

I am using AD Connect to sync my on-premise domain to Azure AD. I would like to create new teams in Teams, utilizing pre-existing groups. I cannot select any groups because I cannot sync ownership of the group to Azure AD. Do you have any recommendations on circumventing this issue?
Hi, this has to be a requirement else it will cause a confusion to people thinking that their aad connect is not working properly as the end results for office and azure portal shows different results.

This option is really needed to automate processes.

We need this as well. It seems like a no brainer. Why would group owner be dropped by AAD Connect?

We need this too!
The product team is aware of this feature request. Though it's not planned in the short-term, it is being tracked in our backlog as a priority item
I am facing the same problem.
