Azure AD B2C Data Residency in Australia
Although Azure AD B2C is available for use in Australia, there is not option to create a directiry for which the user data resides in Australia. We would like to be able to ensure that our Azure AD B2C user data remains in Australia.
We plan to start work on this in the next 6 months. Please note we don’t have timing on when it would be available for customers.
Any updates on this?
Market for Identity Service in Australia is very competitive. Providing Australia based data residency will be very useful and help utilize and migrate people to using b2c service.
As an identity service would hold PII information this concern becomes paramount for most companies.

Went to sign up for this today, there's availability for Christmas Island but not Australia.
That's a bit ridiculous.

3 years - 2.5 years before commenting that they plan to start work on it in the next 6 months (which reads, we may get to it but we may not). Joy.
Have you any further updates on availability of Azure AD B2C data residency in Australia

I'm gonna add with Sean as well,
If I create in Singapore and any other what's the migration path?
Certainly, our users won't like it if the user data is outside Australia.
Sean Hansford commented
Is there a migration path once AU gets added?
Robert Foster commented
We need this as we're implementing a data-sensitive system that needs to be hosted in Australia for compliance reasons.

And what exactly do we do in the meantime? Will there be a migration process to move to the Australian region?
Australia is missing!!. Need to get this fixed guys ASAP. You can list Somalia but miss out on Australia!! And to make it work worse, if I choose a region I can't change it later.

For the sake of those enquiring in relation to Government restrictions, can Microsoft comment on where data will reside, once available? If data will reside in US, then there will be no difference to what's available today. If it resides in the EU, that may satisfy some regulations. If data resides locally (ideal scenario), then that would likely satisfy the concerns behind the questions raised here.
A more clearly defined plan would allow some customers to make a feasibility decision today.
Edit: refer here for current data residency / region mappings:
Thank you for your interest in Azure AD B2C in Australia. I am excited to inform that we are planning to have data residency in Australia. We plan to start work on this in the next 6 months. Please note we don't have timing on when it would be available for customers.
+1 for government clients
This is an essential requirement for most serious business in Australia, very surprising to see some of the other countries on the list, but not Australia?!?
Could not believe, Australia still not in list
I can't understand the logic of not providing this for Australia. Madness!
Hi Darren, on https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory-b2c/active-directory-b2c-reference-tenant-type you mention that Australia (region) process of being added to the list. Are there any updates on this?
+1 this is mission critical for Government
