Azure Active Directory

Welcome to the Azure Active Directory suggestions and feedback site! We love hearing from you. If you have suggestions, please submit an idea or vote up an idea. We are monitoring the site actively.

Thank you for joining our community and helping improve Azure AD!

Wehave a new log in experience integrated with Azure AD, and we stronglyrecommend you log in with your Azure AD (Office 365) account. If yourUserVoice account is the same email address as your Azure AD account, yourprevious activities will be automatically mapped to your Azure AD account.  You can read more here for details: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Azure-Active-Directory-Identity/Putting-customers-first-for-f...

  1. Hide/Separate features based on subscription

PLEASE make it so I'm not inundated with unavailable options/features that muddy up the portal -- we have Azure AD for Office 365 and I'm constantly seeing and clicking on "features" that bring me to the "you need P1 or P2 to use this feature". If we can make it so Office 365 services can hide objects based on access permissions, it seems the same would hold true for features. Stop being such a tease!

  4. Change rights of Device owner(s)

Be able to change the rights of device owners.
Currently, the all become administrator on the joined devices, this should be an option you should be able to change.
Make an option so you can make device owners follow the permissions given by Azure AD in general.

  5. Capture and display a last login date

When reviewing a user's profile, a last login date for any Azure AD/Office 365 login should be captured/displayed, so that admins can evaluate inactive users for account disable and license recovery.

  7. Allow a Description field for Enterprise Applications

If we create our own Enterprise Application entry, we can name it fairly well to give ourselves a chance to know the purpose of creating it in 6 months or so, or if another admin comes along, etc.

However, when we need to grant access to an application, we're forced to accept their labeling. Which has a lot to be desired, especially when it comes to MS items since they like to change the URLs and periodically and have us with debris to clean up afterwards.

Case in point - "demos.microsoft.com". That was its own entry before. And its purpose…

  11. Display in the AAD portal for a given user an indication if/when the ID is 'AAD ID Protection-blocked'

One of my demo AAD personas/IDs was blocked when I did some TOR demos the other day. This was a nice demo/experience and (as designed), blocked the ID since the alerts were 'active.'

However, I neglected to 'resolve' the alerts in ID Protection and then today, was doing some other demos w/ that user and I had several blocks/interrupts (again, not a bad story, since my user had some ID Protection activities).

BUT … it would be really great if the UI page for the user in AAD indicated that it was 'AAD ID Protection-blocked' or something.

    It wasn't until…

  12. Obligation to have a login to Azure

    Hello,

I find out that every Microsoft Account have the Login prepared for the Azure Portal. I asked to the Support to close only the Azure-Login and the MS-Supporter told me that they couldn't do that. Only when you delete your account. I get fear by some sentences like this.

To force a MS-Account-User to have something what he don't want is not Right. That is a Management Line and not a Default Customer Line.

So please give the customers the possibility to close the Login only for Services like Azure.

That's not Right to Keep User to obligate to…

  13. Adding members to a group.

There must be a way to add users to a particular group using .csv file. One by one adding would consume time.

  14. Azure Bad Password Attemps dashboard does not properly display usernames with "-" sign (truncates them)

The Azure Bad Password Attemps dashboard at /#blade/Microsoft_Azure_ADHybridHealth/HybridHealthBlade does not properly parse and display usernames containing the "-" sign.
So, john.doe@example.org is displayed just fine, while jane-alice.doe@example.org gets displayed as "jane", without the "-" sign and everything that follows it. We are having this issue for ALL of our users with such usernames, making the investigations harder (I have to manually extract and parse ADFS logs to extract the real usernames).

This is a serious functional issue.

  15. Please allow the ability to pay and enable accounts in the portal using credit card

It would be a good idea to allow individual email addresses to be enabled via a portal. So, if I need a couple email addresses to be activated, I can pay for them in the portal and be done

  16. Restrict access to Azure AD administration portal for each user

I want to set the "Restrict access to Azure AD administration portal" setting (the attached file) in the Azure portal for each user, but currently it is only all users.

  18. Allow only a group of user to do user consent on their behalf.

In current user settings, it just allows enable or disable user consent on their behalf.

We want to have a feature to allow just a part of user to do user consent on their behalf, NOT for all users.

    Thanks

  19. Reserved instances

When a reservation instance is created from an Enterprise Agreement, only the creator can manage the resource, even if all other EA Managers are given the Reservation manager role, they cannot see it, therefore they cannot manage until manually given the Owner role over the RI.
Making this default would ease several users.

  20. Linux VM login using AAD connection string is shown in incorrect case

The documentation for using AAD login for Linux VMs states (correctly) that the AAD username used for login to a Linux VM must be entered in all lowercase. However, in the Azure Portal, when browsing to a VM and choosing 'Connect' shows the name in the connection string (in the "Login using Azure Active Directory" box) using uppercase characters, if your username has those. In our organisation (And I expect many others) the usernames consist of something along the lines of FirstnameLastname, having 2 uppercase characters. A user should just be able to copy/paste this connection string (SSH command) but…
