How can we improve Azure CDN?

Redirect to HTTPS

Allow HTTPS only configuration to responds with 'redirect to HTTPS' when HTTP request is received. This will be very useful for the new static website storage accounts. Especially, when the wider premium 3rd party CDN is not needed.

"Redirect to HTTPS" is the second most requested feature for Azure CDN. When will Microsoft comment on this or at least mark the ticket as Under Review?

We would like to run our Blazor, serverless, application on Azure Static Websites. However, this is not possible until Microsoft CDN supports HTTPS redirect. Until that time is just presented with a vague error page.

Redirect to HTTPS is needed to permit serverless applications to run on Azure Static Websites. Please implement this feature soon.

File compression is a simple and effective method to improve file transfer speed and increase page-load performance by reducing a file's size before it is sent from the server. File compression can reduce bandwidth costs and provide a more responsive experience for your users

I would like to use Microsoft CDN instead of Verizon or Akamai, but I need this feature first.

A web server looks at the "Host" header in the HTTP request to see which site it needs to serve. The SSL negotiation happens before the HTTP request is sent, so at that point the web server can't tell which website it will display. It will always send the same certificate to the browser.

Ya, this would definitely help in configuration. The default error is rather disappointing, as users think there is an outage.

    Definitely need this feature.
    Current page is really ugly.
And what is more awful that users think that your site is down because of this message :(
The same thing for static web sites hosting BTW

"Our services aren't available right now

We're working to restore all services as soon as possible. Please check back soon.

now with Static website hosting in Azure Storage which is in preview, force HTTPS is a real need.

helps drive the internet to HTTPS only.
