  1. Flash Media Live Encoder, obs, solve problems with encoding channels

In live streamin we have a bug with flash media live encoding to use encoding with channels in order to try keep the frame rate. I think that the focus must be in solve this issues and make better compatilbility whit other programs too this happens with obs and fmpeg too.

  2. Document how to get large videos (e.g., above 200MB) uploaded

There is no obvious or documented way to get a large video (e.g., above 200MB) into Media Services without writing code or without some Windows dependent application.

Though not documented very well, I'm able to load large mp4 file into a Storage Account. It would appear that there is upload capability from Storage accounts to a Media Account. But, though the Storage accounts appears in the dialog box, the video blob does not.

The blob is definitely there (confirmed with the CLI and from the portal). But it is not visible from the "Upload content" dialog screen.

    Please document this…

  4. Android 5 Lollipop Encoding Support

Azure Media Services need to be able to support Android 5 Lollipop encoding. With 17% Share of the largest mobile platform, Azure Media Services has to support this for it to be a viable encoding services. I would also suggest that the majority of developers using Azure Media are likely doing cross platform development on Xamarin---so adding a native player and code samples for the end to end mobile media solution are needed

Thanks for the feedback. While we support a majority of the codecs in the Lollipop platform, there are a few which are pending licensing discussions with the appropriate IP owners.

  5. More troubleshooting capabilities

Often intermittent errors are hard to reproduce. It would be great to have the framework, best practices whitepaper to know how to collect information which could be used to troubleshoot issues that occur intermittently or in the cases they can't be easily reproduced

  6. Quick way to see Media properties such as bitrate, duration, w x h, formats

Ie. in the Azure Admin, media content listing, when you select a media item, add a button at the bottom that says INFO and just shows a popup with all kinds of information about the media item.

This would help us save time.

Thank you for your feedback, we will consider this when planning the feature work for the Media Services portal.

  7. Inserting InsertSilenceIfNoAudio and InsertBlackIfNoVideo using custom presets

Azure Media Service preset (XML or Json) can't take InsertSilenceIfNoAudio and InsertBlackIfNoVideo same time.

We need this in cases like, if clip has no audio then encoder can use InsertSilenceIfNoAudio and if clip has no video then encoder can use InsertBlackIfNoVideo.

When I was going through this blog post https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/media-services/previous/media-services-advanced-encoding-with-mes#no_video I realized this feature is not available, also posted it here asking for details https://github.com/MicrosoftDocs/azure-docs/issues/20149.

Please either build this or confirm alternate option to achieve same.

  9. AzureHtml5js to obey preload="none"

Using the recommended techOrder, starting with azureHtml5js, I can't seem to stop the stream from preloading. This really adds up to a lot of downloading in views that are often refreshed.

Placing Html5-tech first seems to help, but this is not a good solution obviously.

Please add an option to control preloading from any tech.

  10. Automatic continuous recording

Right now we cannot record a live stream for longer than the maximum archive window length of 25 hours. If the live stream goes on for longer than 25 hours we begin to lose data.
It would be useful to have some function that enables recording of live stream without being restricted by a certain duration. For example, we want to continuously record a security camera stream that is active 24/7. The recorded assets can be in chunks of 1-hour duration.

  11. Scheduling program to start and stop at specific time

Currently live streaming programs have to be started and stopped manually. It would be useful to be able to schedule when to start and stop programs allows for precise timing as well as help transitioning between live events seamlessly.

  13. azuremediaplayer.min.js:38 Uncaught DOMException: Failed to execute 'add' on 'DOMTokenList': The token provided must not be empty

Since Azure Media Player version 2.1.0 and above, the exception below occurs and style seems to be broken.

azuremediaplayer.min.js:38 Uncaught DOMException: Failed to execute 'add' on 'DOMTokenList': The token provided must not be empty.

    Refer to the attached screenshot.

  14. Angular, angular 2, React Wrappers

It would be highly beneficial to provide both Angular and angular 2 components in node_module format that could be used for mainstream projects.

  15. Ability to define word count per time stamp in Azure Media Indexer

The number of words per time stamp in a file generated by Media Indexer 2 is highly variable. As we look at the tool as a starting point for generating caption files, it would be useful if the length of each portion the transcript per time stamp was able to be defined, so less work would need to be done in breaking up long transcript chunks into lengths suitable for delivery as captions and reencoding the time stamps.

  16. Loop option for video

Add a feature to loop a video. This would be useful in installations using Azure Media Player to stream video from Azure to a display wall or similar.

If yes please provide us the proper documentation.

I found this github link (https://github.com/WindowsAzure/azure-media-player-framework) but its showing an error message of "Page Not Found".

  18. Implement AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages) extension

AMP project is gaining more popularity. Here's a list of video/audio providers that already built support for it https://github.com/ampproject/amphtml/blob/master/extensions/README.md#audiovideo

It would be very useful to support an AMP video extension

  19. Playready license requests need to be faster

The current SLA is 30 seconds. Frequently we are seeing much longer times than that.

30 seconds is a long time in the eyes of a user expecting sub second responses.

  20. Automatic failover for live streaming

Using 3 to 4+ fragmented ingest streams, embedded with VITC (SMPTE) timecode. Buffer at the AMS server, for several seconds (this should be configurable, to allow for extra time when satellite and terrestrial internet redundancy are utilized). Then analyze the 3+ streams for similarity, both video and audio would be cool. When the stream that is being pushed out to clients, differs greatly from the others, automatically switch over. It would also be nice to be able to get notifications, not necessarily to the encoders themselves, but maybe and configurable https endpoint.
