  1. Sentiment analysis on Azure Media Indexer transcripts

    Add an option to generate sentiment analysis (decimal 0-1) representing how positive (higher) or negative (lower) each phrase in a transcript is.

  3. Add multi-audio support for Smooth live stream multi-bitrate ingest from client encoders

    Currently multiple audio streams (multi language) for live encoding ingest only work for RTP single bitrate video streams. Please add support for multiple language tracks to live multi-bitrate Smooth streams pushed from a client encoder. Scenario: Elemental Live encoder creates multi-language multi-video bitrate Smooth stream that gets pushed to AMS live channel over public internet connection. This is needed, because the RTP (UDP) protocol is not reliable for pushing over public internet connections, and the Azure Media Encoder encoding profiles do not always meet the specific scenarios or encoding options an on premise live encoder can offer.

  4. getState

    Would be helpful to be able to ask the player its current state (playing, paused, buffering, idel, etc.) rather than having to check each individual state or listen to all the events and track ourselves. See JWPlayer getState: http://support.jwplayer.com/customer/portal/articles/1413089-javascript-api-reference#playback

  5. Pause at speific time in video

    It would be of great help if AMP modify the current pause() method or provide a new function which takes floating point as parameter and pauses the video at exactly the same time with milliseconds precision. Yes we can do myPlayer.currentTime(time).pause() but it does not pauses at the exact frame because the currentTime(time) starts the playback after setting the currentTime and not just setting the currentTime to time.

  6. Automatically Disable Full Screen Button if Full Screen Not Allowed

    If AMP is in an iFrame that doesn't have allowfullscreen set, or you've specifically told your browser not to allow full screen for a specific domain, then it would be nice if AMP just disabled the full screen toggle button on the player.

    You could check if AMP is in a context that allows full screen with something like this...

    public static isFullScreenAllowed(): boolean {

        var document: any = window.document;

    return document.fullscreenEnabled || document.webkitFullscreenEnabled
    || document.mozFullScreenEnabled || document.msFullscreenEnabled;
    }

  7. Playback Frame Rate

    It would be desirable to have API support of current playback frame rate. This is useful for test purpose. In addition, it is useful to keep track of lost frame count in a playback session.

  8. Compose a series of still images into a video

    Pull a series of images from blob storage or accept them from a stream of REST calls. Convert each image to a video frame and output the resulting video.

  9. Deleting more than one item from Azure Media service content

    Currently we need to select each item and click on delete for removing the items in Azure media service content. Give us the option to select more than one item and delete.

  10. Make streaming endpoints cheaper

    Standard streaming endpoints and premium streaming units are too expensive. Please do not turn this into another Cosmos DB debacle.

  11. Allow newer image formats to be used for posters

    As a user I would like to be able to provide a list of images to the poster parameter of the player that would be used like an html 5 picture tag, So that I can use newer image formats like webp for my posters but fall back to the older formats if needed.

  12. Support HLSv6 protocol to ensure new tag support by Player App

    Some of new tag like #EXT-X-START enable to customize player app more flexibility. HLS v6 support by streaming system help it.

  14. Video based examples of live streaming with code with steps broken down api functionality. Probably would involve a series of videos.

    Video based examples of live streaming with C# code as an MVC project with steps broken down api functionality. Probably would involve a series of videos. Examples would include connecting to the account, creating the asset, allowing the broadcast to be remotely started, Running the broadcast, ending the broadcast, exporting the resulting asset to a storage account.

  15. Add support for videos without audio tracks

    Not sure if it's by design or not, but AMP fails if there is no audio track.

    I can see a number of valid business cases for videos with no audio tracks.

    The errors:
    MEDIAERRSRCNOTSUPPORTED
    error: azureHtml5JS: workflowSequencer: stepRejected: Module = streamSelector FailureCode = 0x00400003err: Video or audio streams not found

  16. Free AMS from iPhone Proxy by Migrating to AMP

    Problem:

    In order to play encrypted streams on iPhones using the AES token pattern, one must use a proxy to transform the manifest to one that is digestible by iPhones. This requires special knowledge of how to integrate the proxy code on GitHub into one's application, thus reducing adoption of this excellent way of securing AMS videos.

    Solution:

    My solution is to port the 20 lines of c# code in the manifest proxy controller into the AMP javascript itself, thus eliminating the need for adopters of this pattern to know anything about the proxy. The javascript would transform the returning…

  17. Timeline Preview

    The Timeline Preview displays static thumbnails that correspond to the video's playhead location in the Player's seek-bar. Hovering over any time location in the seek-bar will display the relevant Timeline Preview tooltip. This allows viewers to skim quickly through the video's playback and skip to interest points easily.

  18. Add event listener to track changes of selected closed captions/subtitles in the player.

    We would like to know how much are closed captions/subtitles used in the player (how many times are different CC/subtitles selected from the menu).

  19. Create a light weight player without localized string and controls

    In some cases we don't need the player controls and localized strings as we would use our own. Thus it will be great to provide a lighter version of the player which does not include these so that js size gets smaller for better performance.

  20. Today, when we try a live encoder to ingest into AMS Live channel, if it does not work, we have very limited info on why the ingest is refus

    refused. It would be great if an option is provided to disclose the detailed exception info via either API, portal, etc.
