  1. Telemetry Service: Release portal reporting

Telemetry data still cannot be viewed at the Azure portal.

The Azure Media Services Live Monitoring Dashboard is a nice idea, but by far to complex to setup.

Integrate the Live Monitoring Dashboard into the Azure portal or provide a simpler way to set it up.

  2. API to extract video format and metadata without trans-coding or analyzing the entire video.

It would be a great tool to have the ability to analyze a video with an API call, prior to the trans-coding step. We have an issue where we don't have the format/encoding/compression information for all of our videos or other meta-data like video duration, resolution, etc. It would be great to be able to extract this information as a separate API, without an encoding process.

  5. Allow encoding of audio to mp3 with Media Encoder Standard

The only way to get mp3 output from AMS is using the premium encoder, it would allow for easier workflows and provide more functionality to give this as an output option with MES.

  7. Workflow Designer without Local License Server

I'm testing Media Encoder Premium Workflow with the Workflow Designer.
The Workflow Designer needs a license which is expired within 60 days.
And I need to contact Microsoft every 2 months.
    It bother me.

I want to use this software without such routine works.
(For example, logging in with MS Account.)

  9. Provide facility to add attributes to files being stored via Media Services to be able to locate these files.

When we send any file to media service it is kind of depending upon either the file name or the response back from Media Service (i.e. the URL to access the blob). There is no way to associate properties / attributes to file while uploading so that neither response back is needed nor file name is important. It would be good to provide a way to add properties to file and then later search on those attributes.

    Hi Navin,

I’ve moved your question to the Media Services (WAMS) section of UserVoice.

Today, we do not offer a Content Management System (CMS) as an integral component of the Media Services Platform as a Service. We are engaged with existing CMS platform providers to build on top of WAMS. A CMS will typically offer file and asset level metadata storage, searchability, indexing, cross-referencing and web-page-content generation (think online video galleries).

We have anticipated external CMS, and eventually integrated CMS services. To accommodate, we have designed in the IAsset.AlternateId property. The goal of this text string is for an external CMS to put their table-key into the AlternateId, that way, they can query:
    var theAsset = cloudMediaContext.Assets.Where(a => a.AlternateId == “SomeKeyGuid_FromTheCMS”).FirstOrDefault();

The workflow is to use the CMS to find the file(s) or Asset via the metadata stored in the CMS, then find…

  10. Support key rotation services for Live Streaming

It's helpful to key rotation feature for 24x365 live streaming if Contents Holder required that supported by PlayReady 3.0 or later. Hope we can provide this as option.

  11. Aria & Accessibility Improvements

Using the aXe plugin and Accessibility Developer Tools in Chrome, the following accessibility issues arise as severe/critical. The player has been made keyboard accessible, but some of these other issues should be looked at to comply with current accessibility standards:

    • Aria-expanded property not allowed on role="menuitem".
    (Elements: .vjs-chapters-button, .amp-audiotracks-control, .vjs-subtitles-button, .vjs-captions-button, .amp-quality-control)

    • Proper aria parent (role="menu" / role="menubar") is not present for menuitem.
    (Elements: .vjs-chapters-button, .amp-audiotracks-control, .vjs-subtitles-button, .vjs-captions-button, .amp-quality-control)

    • Invalid aria attribute value: aria-valuenow="NaN".
    (Element: .vjs-progress-holder)

    • Elements with aria roles must ensure required owned elements are present. Element needs children with role of menuitem since it…

  12. Extend the Portal to include more features from the AMSE tool

We hope more features from the Azure Media Services Explorer tool is being integrated into the Portal to create a SaaS product that can compete with Elemental Cloud. At least allow us to customize our own encoding profiles by uploading our own JSON files.

  14. Support multiple audio tracks in Media Encoder Standard

Media Encoder Standard is able to encode videos containing multiple audio tracks, however these audio tracks cannot be separated in encoder's output. Neither at encoding, nor in .ism file: only first track is available/linkable.
A simple solution could be if MES's "NonInterleaved" option could separate not only video and audio, but multiple audio tracks also.

  15. Support for on-demand 360' video streaming. Today YouTube, Facebook, Vrideo, and others support the simple upload/playback of content

Today all the major video services support the simple upload, processing, and playback delivery (via web as well as Virtual devices ) of 360' video. We still do not have this and we have gotten requests to deliver and demonstrate to customers

  18. Add multi-audio support for Smooth live stream multi-bitrate ingest from client encoders

Currently multiple audio streams (multi language) for live encoding ingest only work for RTP single bitrate video streams. Please add support for multiple language tracks to live multi-bitrate Smooth streams pushed from a client encoder. Scenario: Elemental Live encoder creates multi-language multi-video bitrate Smooth stream that gets pushed to AMS live channel over public internet connection. This is needed, because the RTP (UDP) protocol is not reliable for pushing over public internet connections, and the Azure Media Encoder encoding profiles do not always meet the specific scenarios or encoding options an on premise live encoder can offer.

  19. getState

Would be helpful to be able to ask the player its current state (playing, paused, buffering, idel, etc.) rather than having to check each individual state or listen to all the events and track ourselves. See JWPlayer getState: http://support.jwplayer.com/customer/portal/articles/1413089-javascript-api-reference#playback

  20. Pause at speific time in video

It would be of great help if AMP modify the current pause() method or provide a new function which takes floating point as parameter and pauses the video at exactly the same time with milliseconds precision. Yes we can do myPlayer.currentTime(time).pause() but it does not pauses at the exact frame because the currentTime(time) starts the playback after setting the currentTime and not just setting the currentTime to time.
