  2. Bring Azure Media Clipper to Office 365 Stream

Perhaps this idea doesn’t belong here, if so, I apologize.

But pretty please, do it anyway. It makes a lot of sense to me to be able to edit clips in Stream.

  3. Parser performance is slower in IE than other browsers

Manifest parser works slower in IE than other browsers (ie Chrome). The difference is significant with large manifest.

With a manifest of 7k+ lines, it would take IE >5s to parse the manifest, comparing to <1s in Chrome.

    IE:
    [13:2:44.318] verbose: azureHtml5JS: manifestParser: Parsing complete: ( xml2json: 5019ms, objectiron: 848ms, total: 5.867s)

    Chrome:
    [13:30:7.744] verbose: azureHtml5JS: manifestParser: Parsing complete: ( xml2json: 673ms, objectiron: 139ms, total: 0.812s)

  4. AES video won't play back in Chromium

While AES works fine in Chrome itself, the video won't play back properly in Chromium because it attempts to use Widevine even when only AES is available.

    The details are here: https://bitbucket.org/chromiumembedded/cef/issues/1964/aes-encrypted-video-playback-fails-works

Note the known issue. It appears that the Azure Player is not detecting capabilities correctly and using AES as it should.

    Thanks!

  5. Support blur similar to overlay

It would be interesting to be able to blur a box in a video similar to what is currently being done for Overlay. This way, we could use the current face detection "output" and setup the correct blurring. This would allow scenario where the application could "correct" the blurring bounding box generated by AMS.

  7. Android SDK

Azure media service has both SDKs for Windows and iOS. An Android SDK that supports Smooth, VAST, VMAP and other features will be great helpful. As for the current AMP 1.7.1 can't always play video on some Android devices with specific browsers (like QQBrowser on Samsung or Huawei Honor).

  9. Make the AMP work on XHTML files

    Hi,

I would like to use AMP in xhtml files. We are receiving xhtml files from the clients, so the option to change to html is not valid.

Is there a chance to make this happen?

We need a solution to use Azure media services in xhtml.

Problems: rigt now, if we add the AMP code in xhtml, it will throw an error and it will not work.

    Error message:
"Uncaught SyntaxError: Failed to set the 'innerHTML' property on 'Element': The provided markup is invalid XML, and therefore cannot be inserted into an XML document."

  10. Live chat embedded into live video .... periscope like feature

Would like to develop a player feature that wires SignalR chat with a custom video player. So a user can chat and watch live video.

Been doing it on the website using a Dacast simple player and Ajax SignalR chat

We have a Xamarin Mobile iOS app that has a simple video player on one page / tab and SignalR chat on another. We want to build a iOS custom player that will show video and chats on one view-model.

  11. Does Azure Media Player support vertical caption positioning via WebVTT?

I am able to position a caption horizontally using the annotation in my WebVTT source, but vertical positioning does not appear to work.

Using the file attached as a subtitle track, the subtitles are correctly positioned horizontally to the left, but the "line" attribute seems to be ignored (it should display vertically centred but instead is on the bottom as always).

The "line" attribute is described in the WebVTT documentation:

    https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/WebVTT_API#Cue_settings

  14. bug: AMP exits all fullscreen within site instead of just its own element

    Situation:
Website is opened in fullscreen using fullscreenElement with AMP player loaded in the page. AMP is made fullscreen. Escape-key OR exit fullscreen button is pressed in AMP fullscreen mode.

    Behaviour:
The AMP-JS exits all fullscreen elements and the page is not in full screen anymore.

    Expected behaviour:
The AMP-JS exits only its own fullscreen element and the page stays fullscreen.

The Azure media player exits the fullscreen for the whole page instead of just its own element within the page.

  15. Default Captions on Mobile

I am following the example here:
    https://amp.azure.net/libs/amp/latest/samples/dynamic_selectTextTrack.html

I want captions to automatically show when the video starts playing. While this method is working on desktop and tablet browsers, on IOS and Android phones captions do not appear unless manually turned on. The videos in my project are NOT playing in IOS fullscreen mode - they play inline on the page. Captions do show if they are manually turned on from the player controls.

  17. Asset Filter with spaces in name cannot be played with Azure Media Player. Taking out the spaces works.

Asset Filter with spaces in name cannot be played with Azure Media Player. Taking out the spaces works.

Please fix player to play asset filters with names or special characters in name.

    Broken Examples:

    https://myaccount.streaming.mediaservices.windows.XXXXX.ism/manifest(filter=Abc 123)

    https://myaccount.streaming.mediaservices.windows.XXXXX.ism/manifest(filter=Abc%20123)

Working example - no space in filter name

    https://myaccount.streaming.mediaservices.windows.XXXXX.ism/manifest(filter=Abc123)

  18. Azure media player - enable resolution for progressive MP4 video urls

For smoothstream url with ism manifest it shows bitrate resolution option on player to chnage it.
how to achieve custom resolution (like 720p , 540p and 360p) for the progressive MP4 videos. where user can choose resolution on player itself and default will be 720p?

There is no plugin for resolution option if source of player is progressive mp4.

  20. Cache for the CDN-version

How come the CDN-versions of AMP does not supply any cache-headers?

Most other external scripts seem to leverage cache, and I'd understand if this is a bad idea for "latest", but any specific version should be cached (or allow for a specific cached-url).
