Requests for Azure Media Player.
It was tested for azure media player and we have some requests for Azure Media Player.
If you want to up the viewing record of every minute on the server, I think there is no way to be implemented in a non-timer processing of javascript? We are concerned about the performance. In the case of JWplayer, ontime function are provided.
You want to customize the label of the bit rate change bar and We want to be able to also change the sort order. In the case of JWplayer, label changes are possible.

Does Azure Media Player support vertical caption positioning via WebVTT?
I am able to position a caption horizontally using the annotation in my WebVTT source, but vertical positioning does not appear to work.
Using the file attached as a subtitle track, the subtitles are correctly positioned horizontally to the left, but the "line" attribute seems to be ignored (it should display vertically centred but instead is on the bottom as always).
The "line" attribute is described in the WebVTT documentation:

Bring Azure Media Clipper to Office 365 Stream
Perhaps this idea doesn’t belong here, if so, I apologize.
But pretty please, do it anyway. It makes a lot of sense to me to be able to edit clips in Stream.

Parser performance is slower in IE than other browsers
Manifest parser works slower in IE than other browsers (ie Chrome). The difference is significant with large manifest.
With a manifest of 7k+ lines, it would take IE >5s to parse the manifest, comparing to <1s in Chrome.
IE:
[13:2:44.318] verbose: azureHtml5JS: manifestParser: Parsing complete: ( xml2json: 5019ms, objectiron: 848ms, total: 5.867s)Chrome:

Ability to block user from seeking forward video content
I am new to Azure Media Player, sorry if the question is answered previously.
Currently, I am working on education app, where a user takes a course by watching videos. Now what I want is, a user should not be able to seek video at the end time, whereas a user can seek wherever he/she wants, till the point he/she has completed a video.
e.g. if I am showing video of length 10.00 minutes and a user has watched till 5.00, at this point user can seek at any time between 00.00 to 5.00 but a user can't seek after…

AES video won't play back in Chromium
While AES works fine in Chrome itself, the video won't play back properly in Chromium because it attempts to use Widevine even when only AES is available.
The details are here: https://bitbucket.org/chromiumembedded/cef/issues/1964/aes-encrypted-video-playback-fails-works
Note the known issue. It appears that the Azure Player is not detecting capabilities correctly and using AES as it should.
Thanks!

Implement AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages) extension
AMP project is gaining more popularity. Here's a list of video/audio providers that already built support for it https://github.com/ampproject/amphtml/blob/master/extensions/README.md#audiovideo
It would be very useful to support an AMP video extension

Support blur similar to overlay
It would be interesting to be able to blur a box in a video similar to what is currently being done for Overlay. This way, we could use the current face detection "output" and setup the correct blurring. This would allow scenario where the application could "correct" the blurring bounding box generated by AMS.

Android SDK
Azure media service has both SDKs for Windows and iOS. An Android SDK that supports Smooth, VAST, VMAP and other features will be great helpful. As for the current AMP 1.7.1 can't always play video on some Android devices with specific browsers (like QQBrowser on Samsung or Huawei Honor).
2 votesMoving this to the Azure Media Player team’s backlog – as i think you meant this as a player feature and not the Media Services SDK… which you should wrap at the server side anyways and not deploy to Apps.
Thank you for your feedback. -

Make the AMP work on XHTML files
Hi,
I would like to use AMP in xhtml files. We are receiving xhtml files from the clients, so the option to change to html is not valid.
Is there a chance to make this happen?
We need a solution to use Azure media services in xhtml.
Problems: rigt now, if we add the AMP code in xhtml, it will throw an error and it will not work.
Error message:
"Uncaught SyntaxError: Failed to set the 'innerHTML' property on 'Element': The provided markup is invalid XML, and therefore cannot be inserted into an XML document."2 votes -
Live chat embedded into live video .... periscope like feature
Would like to develop a player feature that wires SignalR chat with a custom video player. So a user can chat and watch live video.
Been doing it on the website using a Dacast simple player and Ajax SignalR chat
We have a Xamarin Mobile iOS app that has a simple video player on one page / tab and SignalR chat on another. We want to build a iOS custom player that will show video and chats on one view-model.

Resizing DRM content on the new Edge is inconsistent
When you play DRM-protected content on the new Edge, maximizing the player is inconsistent.
When you maximize and restore multiple times, the content doesn't fit the full screen size.
This causes other problems when you zoom in on the content.
I have not observed the same problem in other browsers.
It also doesn't happen if the content isn't protected.

Please provide Subresource Integrity Hash
When publishing versions of Azure Media Player on CDN, please provide the Subresource Integrity Hash too for the script tag use. Ideally documentation should provide the script tag itself that can be copy pasted.
