Email notification for Azure guest OS new updates before Microsoft applies these on VM's
Microsoft should send an email alert to the Azure service administrators before applying Guest OS updates. If a developer do not mention Guest OS version in Azure config file then Microsoft keeps updating the VM with latest releases and patches which is fine, but Microsoft should send an email alert 1 or 2 days earlier before applying any update to the VM's.
Atleast simple message on the portal page and the effected service's page would be a great start.
As it is now if a service goes down it's either maintenance or a real server fault and since there is no message like "service is being upgraded" i assume a real server fault and open a ticket.
And maybe this is why your support staff is experiencing high volume?

An email would be beneficial, but even just exposing when the update is scheduled to occur via the CLI (and Portal) would be far more beneficial.
