  8. support arm template and ev2 deployment for azure web job

Hi, is it supported to deploy an azure web job via arm template and ev2 ?
I don't know if below post has enough authority, or there's any update since last year. Looks like there’s no such option?

  9. Include an identity on AppServiceFileAuditLogs output that shows "who" changed file

The AppServiceFileAuditLogs currently outputs fields like Path, Process, OperationName, etc. But it does not have any field that shows a user identity or ID # that corresponds to who made the change.

For example, a user may log into Kudu and manually change a file, which will identify as Process "Kudu/WebDeploy" but does not show any info about the user who made the change. User identity might be capturable on that operation.

Including this field on the output would greatly improve the auditing and monitoring capability of this feature.

  10. App Service's available storage shown from the portal is not the same as df -h output from SSH

    Hello,

In one of my App Services I was getting this output from my application logs: "...Caused by: java.io.IOException: No space left on device..." and according to what I was seeing using df -h command, thinking that this was the available space in my App Service, I was not reaching those limits.

With this, I opened a support ticket with App Service team and they told me that the real available space is shown from App Service Plan's File system storage option, because from df -h it is shown the space for the entire Azure Storage shared with the other…

  12. Internal Load Balancer in Hair Pin mode

Wanted to install a Kubernetes cluster from scratch in HA mode. In other cloud providers, we use Internal Load Balancer to provide the load balancer functionality for the API server.

The same is not working in Azure, because the way ILB is implemented, when a rest call from the backend VM goes to the ILB, packet coming towards the backend VM from the ILB has the source and destination as the backend VM IP and probably the host is rejecting the traffic.

When installing the first k8s master node, calls to the API server via the ILB IP address is…

  13. Staggered app start up

At the moment if the app service plan goes into maintenance, all apps on such plan will be required to switch to a new instance.

When this happens the CPU can easily get overwhelmed and for an ASPNETCORE app it can exceed the default 120second start up time. This renderes the app completely offline until a manual restart is initiated.

We have a lot of low usage apps on the plan with average 20% usage which does not warrant upgrading to a more premium offering just for this scenario.

My suggestion is to stagger the app instance switching/restart so they…

  15. Cloud Role Name for App Services should reflect correct slot

Right now, with the default configuration for App Insights with Web Apps, following a swap, the cloud role name changes which is confusing as if an error is discovered, while the issue may be occurring in the production, the cloud role name would reflect slot

  17. REST API shouldn't return 0 when it doesn't have the actual data

Calling the REST API to get CPU or memory usage of an app service plan, if you ask for it in the last minute it can return 0 to you, when a few minutes later it will return the actual value for the same time, it seems it takes a while for the real data to be available to the API, however I think it's wrong to return incorrect data, it should not return a value until it has the real value.

  18. App services should show the max supported version of ASP.NET core

If you deploy an app with a version of .NET Core that isn't deployed on Azure yet, you get horrible to debug errors that you have to enable stdout logging on to get to the bottom of.

(Ultimatly editing csproj with PublishWithAspNetCoreTargetManifest set to false)

Confusing and time consuming. It would be great if Azure showed you some where on the app, a max supported version of .NET core and some kind of publishing warning if you try to push something higher.

  19. Enable surfacing all attributes from Win32_PerfRawData_Tcpip_TCP (https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa394341(v=vs.85).aspx)

We have been experiencing sporadic times of high dependency latency. Understanding where this is coming from would help narrow down a long term solution.

  20. Allow Users with Reader Access to View App Service Plan Scale Out Run History

Allow Users with Reader Access to View App Service Plan Scale Out History. This view is possible with Contributor access. However, in Prod environments, we cannot grant Contributor access to users and users frequently request this visibility to the Scale Out Run History.
