  1. Azure App Service Backup Alerts

Could email notifications please be added to the Azure App Service Backups. It would be nice to be notified on a daily/weekly basis if the backups of my App Services and completing successfully, partially successfully or failing.

    • Metric and alert for Web App file system used quota

We would like to setup an automatic alert that fires when the file storage of an app plan is reaching its limits.

Ideally it will be great to have a metric that tells the % of storage (quota) consumed so we can set an alert on top of that metric.

This is a great idea and we would like to implement it though there are a few dependencies we need to meet first. We are leaving this on the roadmap for now to see if it gains more customer support which will help with prioritization.

        Thanks,
        Oded

      • In App Services and App Service Plans, add an alert for "Disk quotas" usage.

If an App Service or an App Service Plan reach its disk quotas, you are alerted if you go into the portal, but you cannot configure an alert in the "Alert" section of AS or ASP.

        • web apps backup alarm

We have a lot of web apps with daily schedulled backup. We need to be able to set up an alarm to know when a backup fails

          • Log and alert admins for .NET framework updates

When your App Service is upgraded to a new technology, administrators should get a notification, and the change should be logged. For example, when the upgrade from .NET Framework 4.7.1 to 4.7.2 occured.

We had an issue recently where several of our clients were using a CMS that completely broke on .NET 4.7.2. Had there been a notification or a log, we would have immediately seen that .NET was upgraded and then the site went down. Instead, we spent hours troubleshooting a known issue. I understand why Azure can't give every client a maintenance window for minor changes like this,…

            • Audit file system on WebApps and log to Blob

Audit file system to detect malicious file changing.

Recently we experience intrusion into a Wordpress site on WebApp.
There was a malicious "favicon.ico" icon file.
We are investigating a feature to detect these type of malicious manipulation.

Currently exploring all files at every job is needed to detect, but it is not efficient because we update this site NOT frequently.

If WebApps have auditing file system and log to Blob,
we can create custom alert rules with Azure Functions easily.

This is also an alternative way for implementing antimalware feature: https://feedback.azure.com/forums/169385-web-apps/suggestions/17919064-antimalware-feature-on-web-apps-app-service

              • Pop-up regarding TLS 1.0/1.1

Now we cannot use TLS 1.0/1.1 without SNI parameters on App Service. People tend to choose TLS 1.0/1.1 without knowing this fact. It would be really helpful if Azure portal provides pop-up windows explaining that we need SNI parameter with TLS 1.0/1.1 when choosing TLS 1.0/1.1 on App Service setting page or showing that TLS 1.0/1.1 without SNI parameter is disabled.

                • localcache

Better error messages when slot swaps fail due to issues with the application size exceeding the configured local cache size. Currently the only error is :

'Failed swapping site. Error: Cannot swap slots for site '***' because the worker process for 'staging' slot could not be started’

which gives no real insight into the actual failure.

                  • Improve the SSL Settings interface

(1)Add alerts or warnings when a certificate is about to expire.
(2)Change the font color on certificates that are soon to expire.
(3)Combine the list for certificate and binding into a 2 column list so it is easier to see that you have the correct certificate bound. It is time consuming to continuously scroll up and down to match thumbprints.

SSL/TLS certificates are becoming a required element on the web today. I think it is time to improve this interface.

                    • Please display a warning message that the main app will be stopped meanwhile the restoring process (snapshot preview) is taking effect.

Snapshots can be restored to the original web app, a slot of the web app, or any other web app in the same App Service Plan. While the restore operation is in progress, the web app will be stopped. It is strongly recommended to restore snapshots to a new slot instead of overwriting an existing slot in order to prevent data loss if the restore operation is unsuccessful.
Snapshots contain both web app files and web app settings. You can choose to restore files only, or to restore the settings as well. All settings contained in regular backups are also…

                      • Better inform users of when their App Service Certificates are about to expire or have not auto renewed (7 days?)

This week another of our customer's sites went down due to an Azure App Service certificate expiring without us being notified of its pending expiry - we mark all App Service Certificates to Auto Renew and some of them do infact renew and rebind without our intervention, others certificates have got stuck on the domain validation phase (which we validated 1st time we bought the certificate ofcourse) and the latest certificate is now expired and the Manual Renew button is disabled as it seems to think its outside the 60 day renewal window.

A simple email to us (we receive…
