Add support for free tls/ssl certificates
I want to create a tls/ssl binding to a custom host-name with a free certificate
We are looking at options to enable this.

This is a step that should not take longer than a few clicks. The community extension is decent but still way too many manual steps. This is too important to ignore and should be beyond easy to setup.

This should *not* be closed. It's a pain ********** to set up. There should be an option to use letsencrypt in the azure portal when configuring an application gateway.
This is a must have, we are evaluating Azure for hosting and seeing the responses to the previous 2 requests is very off putting. I was hoping MS was looking to be a step forward not backward.
Why is this closed, its still too painful to setup.

Please reopen this! It's 2017. Everything should be HTTPS. The solution should be incorporated nicely with the rest of the easy-to-use Azure features.

That would be great!

Has there been any news on this recently? Holding off on migrating to Azure until Let's Encrypt support is clear.
This is not completed, security is not a luxusry in 2017. It should be done with the press of a button, built-in in the dashboard.
Please re-open this? It should simply be a checkbox in the portal!
Please re-open this?

This would add tremendous value to azure as a platform.

How about you just support ACME (https://github.com/ietf-wg-acme/acme/) and then we can point it to Lets Encrypt, or any other ACME-supporting CA?
It's clear that this is a feature that people want - given the thousands of votes placed on related issues in short amounts of time.
This is an awful decision. I think most of us were feeling optimistic about the future of Microsoft, but this is a huge step backwards.

@Maxime Beaudry: there's a request for Let's Encrypt integration in Application Gateway here: https://feedback.azure.com/forums/217313-networking/suggestions/15728205-let-s-encrypt-integration-for-https-certificates

In my case, I would like to integrate Let's Encrypt with the Azure Application Gateway to perform SSL termination at the front door of my system.
545 votes in 8 days.... I think it means that the Azure team should consider the enthusiasm behind this request.
Really, really, really bad idea. Goes against the fundamental principle of the entire Azure tool suite: "Use what you want how you want, we're not the old MS, forcing people into a specific tool stack."
We've been using KeyVault in other areas for a couple years. It mostly blows.
Has Scott Hanselman heard about this?

How not to handle issues! Do you people talk to each other or is this the only form of communication: throw an important feature request over the wall to another team, and let's not preserve the trace to the previous item:

I actually bought one of those insanely overpriced App Service Certificates...
It doesnt work, I get a "Guest User Error" when i go to import it to a KeyVault. - their support person wasted my time (3 remote sessions where he just wanted me to run the same Powershell commands and email him the output.. 3 times... I didnt bother to keep entertaining that idiot.)
Just make them obsolete already and support a great service that will eventually make the internet a more secure place!

If I could pour all 10 votes in at once, I would. Let's Encrypt support would be HUGE and probably bring tons of business in via the App Service just by merit of having built in first class support for TLS.
Stop moving this around and closing due to "technicalities' and just listen to us Microsoft, we'd like support for Let'sEncrypt
