Azure App Service Backup Alerts
Could email notifications please be added to the Azure App Service Backups. It would be nice to be notified on a daily/weekly basis if the backups of my App Services and completing successfully, partially successfully or failing.
Thank you for the suggestion. We are working on a solution that we hope will be delivered in this calendar year.

I cannot believe that a) this wasn't included in the initial design of the backup process, and b) that it's taken two and half years from someone suggesting to it being planned.

Most needed feature
we are looking for a way to alert an Failed backups, Partial backups and the size of the backup (near 10Gb limit).
I do not believe there are any triggers for these actions in Azure Monitor for Azure App Services (web apps), but will see if there is an alternative you can use.
There are 168 alerts in the app service, yet the most important one, that is a backup has failed, is not there. Are we supposed to log into the portal every day and check? Come on Microsoft!

I can not for the life of me understand why MS creates a backup option in something without notification option. We have over 100 AppServices running. Do you realy think it's an option to check all the app services every day for backup status?
Please built in a simple "alert when failed" and "alert when warning"!!

Can you at least give the backup operation a name? Right now when I go to the Activity Log, the backups show no operation name. I can't alert on the logs if there are no operation names :(
Just to comment here that this is still something we want to pursue, but it has been lower in priority compared with other deliverables we are working on.

If App Service backups fail we should receive a mail about that so that we can check and solve the problem. Right now we only see that we have no backups when it's too late (normally because we lost data)!

We've implemented a powershell script to do this using the Get-AzureRmWebAppBackupList cmdlet. It would be great if it was available as an option in the portal though

Any update on this? We need to know if our backups fail

3 votes from my side.
We have moved DBs from ClearDB to Azure DB for MySQL with enforce SSL and all backups start failing but.... wie did't notice in a week.
If a backup fails, someone needs to fix it so having an alert is mandatory (at least for backup failures)

Is there any update on this? Is this feature going to be available anytime soon? Is there a way to script this to get notified on Success/Failed backup jobs?

I setup a backup and it worked one day and said "Partially Backedup" and never ran again. If the backups are not reliable, alerts really need to be added.
