Use any tool or OS to develop your site with .NET, PHP, Node.js, Python and more. Choose from a variety of source control options including TFS, GitHub, BitBucket and others to set up continuous integration and develop as a team.

More details about the services are available in the App Service documentation. If you have a technical issue, please open a post on the developer forums through Stack Overflow or MSDN.

  1. Support Azure AD V2.0 Authentication for Function Apps

I have a client application that would like to access a secured function app. The client application is getting a JWT bearer token from the Azure AD 2.0 endpoint.

In the authentication section of the App Service there is no way to add applications registered with the AD v2.0 endpoint.

  2. Windows security patch updates

Sometimes our azure app service code runs into issues with windows patches. It would be nice to know which windows patches are applied and when.

  3. Disable the Scripting.FilesystemObject

One of the STIG recomendations is to disable the Scripting.FilesystemObject ComObject (
https://www.stigviewer.com/stig/iis7.0web_server/2017-04-05/finding/V-13700) This can be easily done on an IIS server, but not on a (Windows) WebApp

  4. THE AZURE CLI FOR RESTORE IS NOT WORKING: It says it is from basic and up subscriptions but it is not allowing to do anything

The azure cli is not allowing even basic commands like az deleted list, it says subscription type does nt permit these actions but in the documentation of azure restore apps , it clearly mentions from basic and up,

  5. Automatic restart after Maintenance Windows

There are times when during a maintenance window for App Services there are issues and the Web App hosted by the App Service is not available anymore (e.g. File Server is not able to connect with success to Blob Storage and the Web App is down until a restart).
Would be possible to restart automatically the application once the updates is done (or to have the option in the Configuration to accept a restart after the update).
I can provide case reference over email.

From when I saw there is a bug and if during the maintenance windows the File…

  6. Allow CLI WebApp Deployment to a Virtual Directory

Allow for publishing Web Apps to a virtual directory/application with azure cli. Presently if you publish a zip file it publishes to wwwroot vs the site folder and/or virtual directory. I would like a command line option to be able to specify a virtual directory when publishing. Maybe something like --vdir

  8. Purchase '.app' and '.ms' domain endings

One should be able to purchase app service domains ending in '.app' and '.ms' through the Azure Portal.

  9. auto-scale out when RG is locked

App service plan auto-scale out and scale down doesnt work if the RG that app service plan is in has a lock set.
We have set a policy to have RG lock to avoid accidental deletion or any other things at RG level, but now for app service plan auto-scale out to work, we are unable to set RG level lock

Is there way for App service plan auto-scale out feature to work ignoring the RG level lock

  10. Pop-up regarding TLS 1.0/1.1

Now we cannot use TLS 1.0/1.1 without SNI parameters on App Service. People tend to choose TLS 1.0/1.1 without knowing this fact. It would be really helpful if Azure portal provides pop-up windows explaining that we need SNI parameter with TLS 1.0/1.1 when choosing TLS 1.0/1.1 on App Service setting page or showing that TLS 1.0/1.1 without SNI parameter is disabled.

  11. New app service domain validation tool.

As for custom domain validation on an app service, instead of recommending DigWebInterface, it would be good to have a what-if validation feature that allows the user to validate a custom domain, so in the process, give the user feedback on whether the record was not found, or whether the record was found but the information didn't match (that gives the user the information on what to do about it).

  12. AzurePortalDeploy folder should be deleted after the package is installed

I saw in my collection of blobs one I had not created, whose name is AzurePortalDeploy. It contains a collection of cscfg and cspkg files, which I guess as used everytime I upload a web service to the cloud.
In the past, these files, were deleted once the web service was up and running. Now they pile up in the AzurePortalDeploy with (I think) no purpose at all.

  15. Deleting an IP restriction for a Subnet that no longer exists returns an exception and changes are applied

When a subnet that is included as an IP restriction in the IP Restriction list for an Azure Function App is deleted, and then the IP restriction is deleted from the list of restrictions, the API returns an exception, although changes are applied (as expected).
Suggestion is to improve the response of the API in such cases so no false exceptions are returned.

  17. [Linux] Don't try to run Docker container after failed pull operation

Currently App Service would run and fail after unsuccessful pull operation (e.g. triggered by a change to linuxfsversion).

BTW, pull fails for newly created App Service (using Terraform), it seems that linuxfxversion triggers pull without DOCKERREGISTRYSERVER_* application settings, after 4 minutes it successfully retries and pulls the image.

  18. Restrict Key Vault certificate import to a specific App Service Plan

App Service certificate import supports importing certificates from Key Vault. This operation requires an access policy on the Key Vault for Microsoft Azure Website (app id abfa0a7c-a6b6-4736-8310-5855508787cd). This access policy is directory wide which means any App Service can import certificates from this Key Vault, even from other subscriptions within the same directory.

It would be more secure if we could limit this access policy to a particular App Service Plan. I should not be able to import production web app certificates from my personal MPN subscription.

  20. conflict error

When deploying an ARM template the error:

    [{'code':'Conflict','message':'{\r\n \'status\': \'Failed\',\r\n \'error\': {\r\n \'code\': \'ResourceDeploymentFailure\',\r\n \'message\': \'The resource operation completed with terminal provisioning state 'Failed'.

It would be great if the conflicting resource could be identified from the error message.
