  1. Support for Docker on Windows App Service

Similar to the Linux App Service Docker support. Having support for a Windows Docker container running in an App Service Plan.

      • Linux / Docker for ASE

We are using ASE and would like to deploy Web Apps using docker containers with linux to be able to run NodeJS applications on Azure.

For now, with our configuration, there is a limitation => we can only deploy NodeJS applications on Windows with IIS, not docker/linux.

We need linux too ! <3

        • Hybrid Connection Manager Support for Linux

We are an ISV leveraging Azure PaaS to provide an iPaaS service to customers. We have a requirement to connect to on premise servers to access line-of-business apps. Currently, we leverage Azure’s Hybrid Connection Manager --- but are limited to Windows servers only. Our customers have both Windows, Linux and mixed environments. This considerably limits our market.

Can we expect Linux support? If so, when? Any suggested work arounds?

          Thank you for your consideration.

          • [Linux] Allow to access certicate store within linux app services

It is currently not possible to use certificates in Linux App Services as described in this blog post:

            https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/using-certificates-in-azure-websites-applications/

Please add access to the azure certificate store within a linux container.

            • Linux Static Site on Nginx

One of the most common web techniques today is static generated web sites. Ideally, there would be an option along with Node, Php etc for Static HTML. This would allow configuration for just running Nginx web servers to host static sites.

                  • [Linux] Add support to mount Azure File Share to Web App For Container

Currently, if I try to follow the guide for Linux mapping of Azure File share inside a Web App for Container, I get the following error -

"Unable to apply new capability set."

Use case for such scenarios is having a Wordpress website and running a cron job inside the container app to periodically upload the media folder to this File Share. This file share can then be mounted on the Dev VMs...

                      • Add build system for app service on linux

I use App service on Linux with dotnet core container.

Currently, deploy to app service on Linux is git push or ftp.

Deploy by FTP is non secure, so i want to use git.

But, it is not build at time of git push, I have to commit artifacts to Git.

So i would like to add a system to run the build at git push.

                        • [Azure web app LINUX] VSTS deploy to slot

Currently I am using VSTS for my CI/CD to azure web app linux
However, unfortunately, there's still a pretty significant downtime for every deployment.

I tried to create a staging slot to minimize the downtime, and swap to production. however, VSTS doesn't allow me to deploy to my staging slot.

I created a github issues too here https://github.com/Microsoft/vsts-tasks/issues/4460

If I can't deploy to my slot, what's the point of having slot in the first place? Please prioritize this as I think this is a pretty important feature

                          • Aggregated logs for Linux App Service instances

To access logs for my Linux App Service instance i have to go to myapp.scm.azurewebsites.net/api/logs/docker and it lists all the instances i have running with a link to the log file for each node. This is cumbersome when trying to debug an issue. Could we have an option under diagnostic logs to target a storage Table and have these aggregated as one source

                            • [Linux] Give Linux web apps same deployment options as Windows based apps

Linux based web apps have 3 deployment options (GitHub, BitBucket, Local Git repo) whereas Windows based apps have 7 deployment options (including the "External Repository" which is what I was looking for).

This request is to bring the options for Linux based apps up to speed, and perhaps until then, provide documentation and/or UI verbiage as to why there are differences. I spent an hour or two trying to hook up GitLab as a deployment option (including trying to use the Azure CLI) in vein.

BTW the CLI gives a cryptic error message when trying to add an external repository.…

                              • [Linux] - Set Docker Image Tag as a slot setting in Application Settings of a Web App for Containers

When swapping between staging and production slots of a Web App for Containers, it would be really handy to have the option of keeping the tag of each image in its respective slot (e.g. image:latest for production, image:dev for staging) and not get them to swap after each slot swap.
Imagine you setup Continuous Deployment through Dockerhub. You push code changes on GitHub, and image build is triggered and then an image pull request from Azure to Dockerhub. If a swap has preceded the above flow, then newly build images would end up in the opposite from desired deployment slots. …

                                  • [Linux] Add some container orchestration features to App Service to provide high density

Azure App Service is the Easy Button for app deployment and hosting, whereas Service Fabric and containers add significant complexity. However, Service Fabric and containers scale much more efficiently. It would be amazing if you could add some basic container orchestration features in a way that would make App Service the Easy Button for container-based deployments, including high density. I realize this is a challenging request, but like I said, it would be amazing!

                                    Thanks!

                                        • [Linux] Web App for Containers set latest pushed tag as the container image

When a new tag is pushed to container repository the web app should be able to pick up the latest pushed tag and set it as the running image. This can be given as a switch setting (checkbox).Currently you are pointing the image at a specific tag.
