Web Apps

Web Apps in Azure App Service provides a scalable, reliable, and easy-to-use environment for hosting web applications. Select from a range of frameworks and templates to create a web site in seconds. Use any tool or OS to develop your site with .NET, PHP, Node.js, Python and more. Choose from a variety of source control options including TFS, GitHub, BitBucket and others to set up continuous integration and develop as a team.

More details about the services are available in the App Service documentation. If you have a technical issue, please open a post on the developer forums through Stack Overflow or MSDN.

Products that we listen to in this space include: App Service, Web Apps, API Apps and Web App for Containers.

  2. MIM Web Service Connector Enhancement - Enable form-urlencoded on WebServiceCall

Connector currently only supports "application/json" payloads, which means the WebserviceCall cannot be used to authenticate to Azure using OAuth as it requires "application/x-www-form-urlencoded"

  7. Need to find the size of each folder of web apps

We need some way included in web apps so that we can find the size of each folder in the web app. Currently we can get this information using powerShell script.

  11. SSL policy default configuration not available in configuration files.

When SSL policy is at default configuration then it has been observed that its details are not available in the configuration files from either Automation scripts or Azure resource explorer.
Hence it is not possible currently to edit SSL policy using the configuration files or deploy new Application Gateways using these files if default SSL policy settings need to be modified before deployment as they are not available in the file.
After a change in default SSL policy has been done either using the GUI or PS commands, the SSL policy details start to show up in the configuration files.

  13. App Service Domains - Add more domains like .no

Customers want everything in one place, one bill.

It would be awesome if all common domains could be managed in Azure instead of keep using traditional registrars.

For this to be a option for our customer base, we need .no domains too.

I can't find any roadmap for this, and GoDaddy supports .no domains, so... I created a UserVoice.

  14. Disable certain schedule WebJob

For now, there are only able to disable all schedule WebJobs by adding WEBJOBSDISABLESCHEDULE setting.
But sometimes needs to disable some certain of schedule WebJob instead of all.

Probably the most convenient way is to add one more setting something like "WEBJOBSDISABLEDSCHEDULE_LIST" and value will be a list of scheduled WebJobs names "ScheduleWebJobToDisable1;ScheduleWebJobToDisable2".

  15. Allow deploy via FTP/S over the private endpoint

We would like to have all communication to our web apps over our private networks via our Private Endpoint. We don't seem to be able to make a FTP or FTPS connection over the web app's private endpoint. Is that by design? Any plans to change?

  16. Platform upgrade caused 503

Our app service had several 503 and 502 errors when I reached out to support I was told that there were storage migration/upgrade and app server upgrade.
THIS IS URGENT FOR MICROSOFT TO NOTIFY AZURE ADMINISTRATORS, I thought about all the bad things(undocumented change, attack, etc) and I was told that there were upgrades.
    App Service plan: P1V2
Started after midnight of Saturday 6-27 till this morning 6-29.(Pacific Time). please call me for further details.

  17. Unable to create WebApp in Isolated plan with new create experience

In the classic web app creation experience, on selecting an isolated service plan for the new app, the domain name shown below the app name changes from azurewebsites.net to the domain name of the isolated plan.

This does not happen in the new create form. This means that you cannot enter an app name that has already been added to the azurewebsites.net domain.

  18. Application Insights integration not available in Linux .Net Core Web App, but I didn't see anything about this in the Web App options

    Hello,

According to this article https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-monitor/app/codeless-overview#supported-environments-languages-and-resource-providers I understand that Application Insights integration is not available in Linux .Net Core Web App, but it would be a good UX improvement if you display a tooltip, a message or another way to display this information in the Web App option, just as already happened when you are creating the Web App

  19. Support App Service and Global VNET Peering

Currently you can integrate your Web App with a VNET and it will support the use of regional VNET peerings. However there is no support for Global VNET peerings. This is important if you run a dual region active active web app that points to a stateful single region backend like Azure SQL DB. We use Azure SQL DB failover groups. By using Private Links within a VNET we can securely connect our Web App to the SQL DB. However the Web App in the secondary region can't traverse the Global Peering link.

  20. FTPS only setting in Azure App Service

After enable "FTPS Only" in App Service, users still can see "FTP hostname" showed in "App Service > Overview". It's kinda confusing for users.

Will it be possible to disable or hide "FTP hostname" after enabling "FTPS only"? Since then, users can see the FTP status from Overview directly.
