      • Make a JDK available with the JCE Unlimited Strength Jurisdiction Policy Files applied

Currently, none of the JDK's have the JCE Unlimited Strength policy files applied.

        http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jce8-download-2133166.html

Please can these either be applied by default or can there be an option to have them applied?

        • Azure websites should permit to set a regional time setting independent of the Region deployed.

Right now when an Azure website is created it sets the time to the region specified on the deployment.
It would be useful to be able con configure the ntp server for a website for the country our company is set, independent of the azure datacenter where the website was deployed.

          • Enable 'Connect', 'Log Stream', 'Console' etc for App Service Environment

When you deploy an App Service into an App Service Environment behind an ILB, much of the UI is greyed out. Examples of this is the 'Connect' button, 'Log Stream', 'Console' etc.

I have to manually construct a URL to get to the kudu endpoint right now in order to use the console.

            • Antimalware feature on Web Apps (App Service)

Cloud Services and Virtual Machines have an antimalware feature to protect themselves from viruses.
However, Web Apps only protects their platform, and there is no customer-facing antimalware service now.
If we develop an application which receives files from anonymous users with an upload form, we can't detect and get rid of the viruses.
We strongly request the antimalware feature like that Cloud Services and Virtual Machines do.

              • Restart App Service Plan (all Web Apps in a plan), something similar to iisreset, from within the portal

It would be great to have a restart button, similar to the restart button in a Web App, but on the App Service Plan level to restart all Web Apps in a plan. something similar to iisreset.

                  Hi Ibrahim,

What issue are you trying to solve? What use case would this be used for?

It seems to me that placing a restart option on the plan level might do more harm than good, by resetting the memory on all the apps under the plan. Depending on your scenario, auto-heal would be a great solution to solve individual machine issues. See a video by my colleagues here for more details: https://channel9.msdn.com/Series/Windows-Azure-Web-Sites-Tutorials/Auto-Healing-an-Azure-App-Service

Placing this idea under review for now until I understand what’s at the base of the request here.

                  Thanks!
                  Oded

                • Ability to incrementally create/update AppSettings & ConnectionStrings

                  Actual problem:
Today if we don't provide all of the existing AppSettings or ConnectionStrings, the ones we omit are removed.

                  Feature:
A little bit like the ARM deployment mode, add the ability to specify an Incremental & Complete mode when pushing settings. To ensure compatibility, Complete would be the default, keeping the behavior we have today. If we set the mode to Incremental, only the provided settings would be created/updated, leaving existing settings untouched.

                  Use cases:
This would be very useful in cases where we want to sync AppSettings or ConnectionStrings for resources directly in our ARM templates for only…

                  • allow empty collection as a value of Set-AzureRmWebApp -AppSettings parameter

                    Attempting to clear AppSettings using
                    Set-AzureRmWebApp -ResourceGroupName $resourceGroupName -Name $name -AppSettings @{}
fails the validation. I believe this is a bug because it should be possible to clear all AppSettings this way.

                        • Add build system for app service on linux

I use App service on Linux with dotnet core container.

Currently, deploy to app service on Linux is git push or ftp.

Deploy by FTP is non secure, so i want to use git.

But, it is not build at time of git push, I have to commit artifacts to Git.

So i would like to add a system to run the build at git push.

Thanks for the feature request! While we have launched container support for App Service through Web App for Containers, we have not approached any work on Windows containers in App Service. This is still being considered and we will update when more information is available.

                              Thanks,

This is generally useful, but my usecase if with Cloudflare:

When a web app is behind Cloudflare, all visitor IPs come Cloudflare's IPs. Cloudflare does forward the original visitor IP with a custom request header. I want to log this value in my web server logs. In IIS this is achieved with Advanced Logging, but this capability does not seem available in Azure web apps.

                              • Show metrics of different unit in the web app blade

In the Azure Portal web app blade, we can show metrics of "CPU time", "Data In", "Http Errors", and so on.
However, we can only choose the metrics which the unit is same at the same time.
For example, we can choose "Average Response Time" and "CPU time" at the same time, but we can't choose "Http Server Errors".
We wan't to choose metrics of different unit at the same time.

                                • Add static IP address for outbound traffic without the use of App Service Environment

There are many reasons you may want to have a static IP address for outbound connections. For example, you may be accessing a system which requires you to whitelist IP address in a firewall, such as SQL Database or an external service.

Currently, the only way to get a static IP address for outbound connections is to use App Service Environment. App Service Environments are quite complex, and has a very high price tag. You need at least 4 instances, 2 of which must be P2, meaning you'll pay at least 1000 EUR/month. Paying 1000 EUR/month just because you want…

Thanks for the suggestion. The App Service is a multi tenant service which makes features like this more challenging. Because the App Service Environment is single tenant and runs in your VNet it makes having a static IP for outbound requests from your app possible.

                                    Christina

                                  • In App Services and App Service Plans, add an alert for "Disk quotas" usage.

If an App Service or an App Service Plan reach its disk quotas, you are alerted if you go into the portal, but you cannot configure an alert in the "Alert" section of AS or ASP.

                                    • Ability to set different machinekey for each deployment slot

There must be a way to set different machinekey element for different deployment slots. So that user authenticated on one slot don't get authenticated on all slots.

Currently machinekey can only be configured in web.config. and web.config gets also gets swapped when slots are swapped.

                                      • Disaster Recovery for Azure WebApp

Currently, we have to deploy the Azure WebApp twice, one in West Europe and other in North Europe to support Disaster Recovery.
It means that we need to update the both WebApps if we want to deploy new artifacts in WebApp.
It is very difficult to sync artifacts in both WebApps.
It would be great if Azure provides the RA-GRS(Read-access geo-redundant storage) feature for WebApp like Azure SQL Database.
With this feature the synching of artifacts between both WebApps done by RA-GRS feature.
So we will not deploy the new artifacts in both web app, when we deploy the artifacts…

                                        • Show the current github configured branch

Currently you have to use the Resource Explorer to figure out/remember which GitHub branch you had configured. This is pretty inconvenient. Even showing it in the logs would be more useful.
