Support Linux for PaaS
Currently when I start up a PaaS web site, it runs on Windows. This isn't necessarily ideal and would be better if I could choose between Windows or Linux for the actual environment.
Would be nice if this Linux environment used nginx and php-fpm instead of Apache too.
We have just announced Public Preview for Web Apps on Linux

@Benjamin York : try using npm > 3 which uses flat file system for dependencies and you wont hit that "path too long" issue anymore.
refer below link for details
This would be very useful

Any updates on this?

I would also like to see this implemented. I am currently in the process of moving our Node.js apps from VMs to web apps. I have run into the hated "path too long" issue and other strife. I would prefer just to put the app into a Linux environment.

Would be nice to be able to pick to have a linux system to host Web Apps on for PHP, Node, Ruby, etc.. This would make it an easier adoption for a lot of freelancers/startups that work on several different languages and where linux is the go to system type.
Using apache would probably have the easiest adoption rate. Maybe provide nginx also?
