How can we improve Azure Cache?

Smaller Premium Redis Instances

I have a requirement, where need high network performance and enhanced security but only 50MB and 250MB or 1GB size, 6GB cache and paying £205/mo doesn't fit well our current total spend is £450/mo

As per other comments, Redis is *core* to many solutions but can be taken offline and patched whenever MS want to without warning.

If there are no plans to put the "Schedule updates" capability on the standard tier then lower cost Permium tiers are rather important.

Or allow vnet connection for standard tier. Vnet connection is essential for our needs but the price jump is huge

+1 for this. We have a need to add persistence but on smaller sizes of cache, so far we're just using redis on Linux VM but would be good to be able to use the PaaS option

Redis Cache instances are way too expensive, especially when coming from the Azure In-Role Cache which are now deprecated...
Can't afford that much for a "backbone" service which is only a small portion of a deployed app, especially as it need for sure several instances for high-availability.
