Include Generate Series

It'll be great if SQLServer has an equivalent feature like Generate series [PostgreSQL], which generates the sequence number for a given top & bottom value.

Erland Sommarskog's suggestion for this very same thing was closed after being open for 15 years. This one has been open for 6 and still nothing. Please, implement this. Like the request states, your competition has one and if you don't think something like this is used much, do a search for "Tally Table in SQL Server" and "Numbers Table in SQL Server".
