Scanning of Analysis Services (Azure Analysis Services [AAS] / SQL Server Analysis Services [SSAS])

Purview still lacks the ability to scan Analysis Services sources. Even though we're shifting to use more and more Power BI Premium, several companies have a large footprint of Analysis Services and we need to keep track of that. Particularly for my company, the lineage view in Purview is mostly broken as our most important reports are built on top of Azure Analysis Services reports.

Delete assets and items from the catalog using the UI

Currently it is possible to delete assets from the Purview catalog using the API but there is no way to do the same using the UI.

Collecting Evidence. Since API workaround is available, need more customer signals to support this from the UI.

Add Databricks Support

Databricks needs to be added either as an External connection (in the same manner as Data Factory) or as a source. Our flow of data is:Source system > Data Factory > Databricks > Other (eg. Power BI, SQL Database)We can add storage accounts at the moment, but I would prefer the option to read from the Hive metastore. Would also be nice to have Databricks as part of the lineage.

Support for Databricks metadata and lineage is on the roadmap to be completed later this year (2022)

Scanning/Lineage of stored procedures in SQL Server and Azure SQL

We use stored procedures to transform our data. So we are not able to see these steps in the lineage visualization. Although it might be tough to analize all possible ways of transformations included in a stored procedure it would be great to get the information extracted. I think there will be a lot of customers who use stored prcedures who would benefit from it.

Add delta file support

Hi,currently delta files are not read correctly. You read them as parquet.Please add delta file support.

Scanning of Power BI datasets and gateway information

Can we get information on gateway details on datasets/data flows?I would like to see information on Data Source name, type, server and database.We can then use this information together with on-prem scans.If possible, also the username would be nice to have.

Data Source name, type, server and database - these are currently GA (generally available). Gateway information portion is under review

Automatic assignment of glossary terms based on classification

We would like the ability to automatically assign glossary terms based on the classification of data found in scanned files and tables. For instance a classification like income, age, or gender could fall under the glossary term sociodemographic features and a classification as credit card no. or invoice under a glossary term financial features.
